Hello I’m torn on what to buy
    2019 double cab Long box
    Bilstein 6112/5100 rear
    Add a leaf
    OME UCA

recently I’ve added a leer topper with roof rack and awning m/DIY drawer platform+ filled the drawers with tools fishing rods etc Occasional travel around with some wood for fires(30lbs or so)

in its current state I’d guess around 400-500lbs that wouldn’t include the spare or skid plates up front as I don’t think that applys possible(well atleast the skids for engine /trans)
Obviously during camping sessions I’d be throwing in another 150lbs or more with coolers and gear I’d imagine I’d be around 600-650lbs or so

im looking at 3 different packs at diffrent prices

    icon RXT (stage 3)
    Dobinson 112r (constant 600lbs)
    Deaver u402 (stage 2)

Any help would be great all 3 packs suit my needs I don’t do crazy stuff mostly overland I feel the Dobinson 112r may be to harsh but when fully loaded i could see my self over 600. I’m leaning towards icon possibly the deaver. Just curious how icon performs over 600lbs at stage 3. The price difference is almost $600 between deaver and the rest

thanks! My first post sorry if I’m asking a lot

I ended up going with OME heavy duty leaf pack and love them so far. I’ve added bumpers and sliders and a smartcap and I don’t notice a difference in ride quality with the OME vs what I was running before and I’m happy how it sits both loaded and empty.

My DCLB came with a dealer installed TRD lift which quickly proved unable to handle any load in the bed. I added a Peragon tonneau cover, and BillieBars along with their high mount for Kayak x2. It was looking saggy when fully loaded for a long kayak/camping trip and I planned on adding a steel rear bumper as well. My stock springs and the 1” block from the trd lift just weren’t able to handle any load.

I first added sumo springs as a band aid fix to keep it from living on the bump stops when loaded for a trip, which it did. Those stock springs weren’t just flat, they were negatively arched because of the TRD lift block. This worked for a while but wasn’t a long term solution.

When I added the bumpers/sliders I removed the rear factory leaf pack/trd lift block and swapped in the OME heavy duty leaf pack and it eliminated my issue. I’ve since added the smartcap as well and they’ve been great for some Missouri backroads/trails camping trips and a trip to Colorado with some light trails out there.

Icon RXT Option3. Not Fully loaded. I went with that configuration so I would retain rake when loaded. Not a fan of the level look. Plus these hoods are hard to look over off-roading

I agree I like the rake and the sport hood is very hard to look over. What’s in ur bed outside of the smart cap and how’s the lvl 3 treating you. What is ur rear shock setup? I know my 5100 don’t have the travel required for the increased height but with the weight I’m tossing in it won’t be so bad atleast for now

How do you find the ride do you have close to 600lbs all the time? I’ve read those ones are designed for loads around 600lb. I was looking at the Dobinson heavy duty but they state the same 600lb constant load and I’m worried it will be really rough without that and possibly too much lift for my 5100 rears

I have Kings extended travel with ubolt flip kit with @AccuTune Offroad rear bump set up. The leaf pack has been great no issues at all. They do squeak after a while but not an issue for me. I lube them up and all good. They hold my weight great. My rig stays loaded cause I get out 2 times a month so the ride is great.
    Have fun

What are you using to lube the leafs grease or FF? I heard you need to jack the truck up and pry the leafs apart to lube it. Not sure if that’s required or not

I’m probably running around with 300-450 all the time. Smartcap is about 230lbs with the load bars and inner roof molle panel I added, bumper is 130, and I’m not sure how much of the weight of the rci sliders is carried by the rear.

Iirc the trd lift kit is just a rebranded 5100 in the rear and those have been just fine with the OME heavy duty pack. I did install the OME driveline spacer kit as well as their bushings and u bolts.

I’ve done both. IMO it’s a great leaf pack. For me it’s been great

Any recommendations for rear shocks? I’ve read the 5100s shouldent go over 1-1.5” just for droop reasons. How much better droop do the 5160 have or is there another option in the bilstein diggresive family from like a 0-2.5” rear lift

FYI, the Deaver expedition series are meant to provide 2” of lift with the stated load amounts. I have the stage 2 leaf springs paired with Fox 2.5” adjustable coilovers in the front and run a GFC full time on the back of my DCLB. I’m at the lower limit of the weight range unloaded for the stage 2 (300-600 lbs) and it has a raked stance when unloaded and a harsher ride. It flattens out and rides SO well when fully loaded with gear.
I believe Deaver will make custom leaf packs for you if you want the increased load capability but necessarily the lift that the Expedition series is engineered for.

My previous Taco was a 2013 access cab 6' bed. I put on a Leer fiberglass topper for 1200k mile move, two trips. I bolted on some $80 Helwig 550EZ helper springs and way overloaded that poor truck lol. Never went less than level and handled fine. Just throwing it out there.
