    indeed it is!!!

J59s are not a “super plush” ride if you have a light truck like me. They never settled and it’s been a year. they ride like shit actually until I ad 200-300lbs in the rear they feel absolutely amazing like an entirely different truck.

5100s are almost fully extended, very little travel. Even took them off for a lap around the block and the j59s only felt a smidge less stiff - and hardly any roll: that should tell ya something OP.

I ended up taking the shortest (bottom most) leaf out of my j59 pack. I'm much happier with the ride height and quality now--I'm at about 1" over factory ride height with a fiberglass topper on.

We're talking about the part numbers for the Fox 2.0 shocks, not the springs themselves.

Odd, according to Summit Racing, the -083 does have the right travel numbers but has a different eyelet diameter. -034 seems like a closer match from the spec sheet, but maybe the valving is different?

Anyway, thanks for the part numbers. I'm trying to piece together some spare parts into a complete set of shocks for my Tacoma. The part numbers will help me figure out the right shaft and body lengths.

I actually don’t mind it - since I plan to ad some steel to the ass end so it’ll give me wiggle room before it begins to sag. Barely moves with 200lbs in the bed but feels worlds different.

I thought about removing that leaf, but for what I spent on them, figured I’d just buy custom Alcans instead if I’m gunna F with the pack. I think a lot of companies for springs build in some “safety” net weight wise in case people add a bumper so they don’t sag prematurely

So the moral of the story is; Measure YOUR travel and take that length and add .5-.75" to the extended length and subtract .5" from the compressed length and go find a shock that fits YOUR truck. Too many people think they can just bolt on exactly what somebody else has and it going to work out the same.

fwiw - the ones from wheeler's came with 2 sets of eyelets - 1 set installed, and 1 set loose. unfortunately, the loose set were the ones i needed.

Hah, that actually makes some sense to me. The -083 must match their desired specs in every way except hourglass bushings, so they just include the needed bushings to avoid having to do a special order.

This is how mine is sitting. It measures about 38.75” to top center of the rear wheel wellsIMG_3358.jpg

It's got a nice rake. I like a truck with the rear a tad higher. Also helps when you're hauling/towing.
