Howdy to whoever ventures their way onto this thread. It will be dedicated to documenting my build on my '21 DCSB 4x4 SR from stock to an ultimate camping rig. For anyone who cares, the idea behind it is to be a camping rig mostly, but very trail capable, mostly at low speeds/rock crawler style. In other words, I want to camp, but camp where the other "overlanders" can't get to. And do it without breaking shit all the time.

Here's the current build list, chronologically:

    08/24 - Got the truck

    08/24 - Bye-bye steps, valence, mudflaps

09/24 - Amazon bed stiffeners (just wanted something to upgrade)

10/24 - Bilstein 5160 shocks w/ resi installed in rear

    10/24 - Picked up 17" 4Runner SR5 stocks, painted matte black/gray, mounted 295/70r17 Yokohama Geolander A/Ts

11/24 - Bilstein 6112 coilovers with 600lb springs and SPC UCAs installed up front, 1.5" block in rear, wheels and tires installed

01/25 - DRT cab mount relocation burned in by TorxFab

03/25 - CaliRaised trail edition rock sliders w/ kickout (painted enameled flat black)

03/25 - Decked drawer system installed

04/25 - Blacked out Tacoma stamp, V6, and 4x4, and flag decal

07/25 - Marlin Crawler LCA frame brace kit burned in by TorxFab

07/25 - Roam Adventure Co. Vagabond Lite RTT and bed bars purchased, assembled, installed

07/25 - DRT bed stiffeners to replace amazon ones

07/25 - Spare tire and mount removed, spare relocated to bed

07/25 - Headstrong offroad extended brake lines installed

07/25 - DRT hammer hangers w/ crossbar, Archive Garage "ERIKSON" HD leaf springs, Timbren U-bolt flip kit and bumps

Pending install: Badlands Apex 12,000lb winch (Bumpers - C4 lo-pro or rock runner, DRT CMD, Relentless Fab, Outgear Solutions?), 12" 255/70 Bilstein 7100s w/ resi and corresponding DRT shock relocation, JD Fab spindle gussets

Down the road: C4 rock runner double-tube rear bumper or Outgear Solutions HC tube bumper, 35s?, 16" method beadgrips, C4 skids, TRD OR axle swap with 5.29s and ARB air locker, ARB twin compressor, 5.29s up front, modifications to camping setup (not mentioned in this thread) like a fridge/power bank

Follow along if y'all want, but posting primarily just to document the process for my own sake and for anyone interested in a similar path. Here's an older but good photo of the rig from stock (Aug '24) to the best current one I have, plus some others along the way.
