I have a 2022 TRD Offroad. I installed a new front suspension which does not have an ABS sensor. Does anyone know of any way to "trick" the ECU so it thinks I have ABS?

Can I splice the front ABS wires into the rear ABS wires or does anyone sell a wiring harness to accomplish this?

I don't care about any of the features that need ABS like crawl control, but without the ABS it doesn't appear I can switch into 4 Hi or Low.

I have searched and have come up empty.

Did you go SAS? If not what suspension kit did you add that removes ABS??

Splicing to the rear ABS would result in a massive ABS event when it releases pressure to the front when only the rear should release.

Because its an offroad model you have no choice but to let the lights all glow.

Is it a 2WD model with a spindle lift? I havent installed many suspensions that don't have ABS sensor slots.

    Solo Motorsports Race Kit.

It is 4WD Solo Motorsports kit which uses a fabricated spindle and coverts the front to a Dana 44 Hub. I don't care about the lights, I just want my 4WD to work.

I believe the ABS isnt the problem, its looking for the front diff signal to tell the 4WD system the shift is complete.

Read up on "ADD delete" it might help resolve the issue.

The only wire not connected are the front ABS wires. I still have front axles, just manual hubs but that shouldn't change any kind of signal. I get a warning light trying to put it into 4wd from a dead stop so I don't know what kind of feed back it would even be getting.

In addition to the ABS sensors possibly being an issue the 4wd computer is trying to connect your hubs using the ADD actuator and sensor to see if it is complete If you removed all that then they need to be spoofed to keep the computer happy. Probably needs something similar to the 2LO mod. As already suggested look up ADD delete. There is another thread going about replacing the whole 4wd computer for mods such as yours or something along those lines so you should probably look into it. A lot of wiring is needed to make the computers happy with what you have done.

I wish I could delete all that computer stuff.

I removed the ABS sensors from the stock spindle and just plugged them in. All the warnings went away but VSC kicks on all the time. I know I can turn that off by long pressing the button, but does that disable ABS too? I am worried about any time I try to stop the ABS thinks the front wheels are locked and the ABS kicks on. I guess I could always take a test drive, but I don't really want to cause an accident.

I have the same kit on my 21’ OR as well. 4hi will engage, but 4lo will not. Which means my rear diff won’t lock. I’ll be ordering the anytime rear locker kit this week.

I’m hoping enough people with this kit are also looking for a solution to get 4lo to work.

I have considered asking a fabricator to weld abs tone rings onto the rotor hat with tabs for the sensor to read it.

Please let me know if you are able to make any progress on this.

Have you tried switching to 4wd while stopped?

With the ABS sensors plugged in and just tucked away in the engine bay all the warning messages and lights are off. As long as I have TRAC turned off it drives normal and brakes normal. 4Hi and 4Lo engage fine. I used my OBDII tool to view the live data for wheel speed and it clocks the rear speed fine, but the front as zero. My thinking here is that because of the front wheel speed is always zero the ABS ECU will never engage the ABS pump on the front wheels. I'm not positive about that but I tried slamming on the brakes and the front wheels lock up and skid like a Non-ABS vehicle.

I'm just glad it brakes fine and the warning messages in the center display are gone. Just make sure you have TRAC off or the engine will have no power.

That’s great to hear. It’s likely mine is just missing the front sensors and/or harnesses. I imagine having trac off disables the ABS, or does it disable it regardless of trac off?

When you say TRAC off, do you mean holding it for 5 seconds every time you drive the truck?

I have wilwood front brakes so they are very sensitive and I also have a brake pressure/voltage warning I have to address also.

With your wheel sensors plugged in and with no spinning wheel input does your speedometer still work accurately.

My thought is it does, just wish to confirm that the speed of the vehicle comes from the rear sensors or more accurately from what I understand the right rear wheel.

Could you press the reluctor ring on the inside of the CV and mount the ABS sensors to the third member?

I was able to plug in the front sensors today and can confirm that I am now able to use 4lo and engage my rear locker.

Many thanks to socowang for paving the way for everyone with this XLT kit to be able to have all the oem functionality with this kit.
