question about 1st gen tacoma

    is it ok to fill my 3.4 v6 with only 5 quarts instead of 5.5 as im worried about over filling it because they dont sell half quart bottles

    Welcome to the forum :hattip:

    It is always best to have the oil topped up to the full mark on the dipstick.

    If you look at the side of any quart oil bottle you will see a scale showing the liquid level.

    Just add a bit and check the bottle, save the remaining 1/2 quart for top up or the next oil change, the oil will be fine with the cap on tight.

    I've always filled mine with 6 quarts. It hurts nothing.

    My last 3.4 went 300k miles before I sold it. My present 3.4 is at 120k miles.

    Slightly overfilling will be fine, severely overfilling will cause problems
