    Hi everyone,

Yeah, I know it was dumb of me to wash the engine (garden hose)… I was planning on cleaning it before changing the valve cover gasket and other parts. Unplugged the battery, and now it cranks but idles super low (~500 RPM). Read that since the ECU reset, it’s trying to relearn, and cleaning the throttle body might help. Also getting P0100 and P0110 codes. Swapped the MAF sensor with an aftermarket one, but it’s still rough idling, so I’m thinking the ECU is just relearning. Just never had this issue on newer cars—seems weird that unplugging the battery caused all this. I saw there was a way to reset this on an automatic just haven't found anything on a manual. Anyone run into this before?

I dont think unplugging the battery caused that, I would assume its more water related.

At first i thought the same thing, that i messed up something electrical... but upon digging i dont think it was water intrusion because it cranks fine and just rough idles at 500 rpm and it seems that has happened to others who just unplugged the battery like in the reddit post. I will clean throttle body later and let it idle for longer and drive it around.... i was scared yesterday after turning it on for like a minute since i didnt fully understand the issue... I just wanted to get some input from others in this forum regarding this.

New Aftermarket MAF  = worse than old soggy OEM MAF

You may want to check you grounds. Wet cold ofter brings out issues

Ive disconnected my battery a million times and never had that issue, and never heard of that happening. My money is on water getting into something..
