You trying to sound arrogant? Or does it come naturally? (Or did I miss the sarcasm?)

I use the black and yellow bins a lot for storage for clothes for yard sales, etc. they are pretty good quality. I would use those. fortunately I don't plan to keep stuff stocked on the truck more so for traveling purposes when I need it most so those would be handy. just trying to figure before I blow this much money on a cover. I really wanna put the cleats on the sides so I can make shift with the accessories so I can put bars on the back as needed so I can haul fishing poles. but just not enough information out there on this thing. I guess I will need to call the manufacturer and see if I can talk to an engineer why I can't do it.

Sub'd for the info...I'm leaning towards the SE but was looking at the Switchback so this feedback is helpful.

Adding as a comparison ONLY since I'm about ready to buy a DB.

The site says the cross-brackets aren't compatible with the Switchback.

I do like the look of the "Rugged Black" finish.

Yea I read that they say its because it won't let the trifold fold up I am guessing because of the track that you put on? but I feel like if you put the track just on the back and front pieces it shouldn't impact it as long as you can take the cross brackets off. I am not sure why that is such a big deal. I like the rugged black too I just hate not being able to open the cover all the way without being a pain to remove it every time i want to haul something big in the back of the truck.

Looking at a switchback but wonder what keeps a thief from unscrewing the hinges on top? The DB website says nylon locknuts make it "very difficult to loosen from top." Didn't give me a warm and fuzzy since my priority #1 is a cover to prevent theft. Any feedback from anyone on this? Also, not happy that DB doesn't list the weight of the switchback. Anybody know the weight for a 5 ft bed? Thanks.

No body is not going to take there time to unscrew a screw to get into a bed of a truck, you are definitely overthinking. I have a Pelican bx135 cargo case with a Morrflate air compressor and duel hose and an ARB tire kit every I mentioned is close to about 850$ dollars just in the bed of my truck, no problems no thefts as long as it's kept lock you are good to go, as for weight I think it about 135lbs I could be wrong. Shoot them a message or call. But I do know DB keeps upping there prices witch is bullshit, of course they will say it's cause the terrifis now... overall I love my switchback, just buy one before they go over 2k in price cause I do see them doing that. They have up the price 3 times so fare..

It’s faster to just pop the tailgate lock than to unscrew the DB.

For what its worth my Bakflip G2 is 5-6 years old and is falling apart. Up until now I've been happy with it. Is this a normal lifespan for the Bakflip? I don't have a problem paying for quality however I also don't want to buy a new cover every 5-6 years. I've been looking at the DB Switchback but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

When I was researching covers I found a number of reviews with experience similar to yours especially from the southern US. I went with a DB HD from their Outlet store for a little more than the new SE that I had saved in my shopping cart. As an example they have this currently posted.
