    Hey guys,
Got a 2004 TRD extended cab with about 180k on it. Having this vibration and loud humming under my feet at around 60-70 mph and only under load. I recently replaced the needle bearing with the ECGS bushing as I thought that was the issue (lots of play in the CV shaft close the the front diff) but after completing the repair the vibration is still there.

Again, its only there under load, so when I take my foot off the pedal and coast at 60-70 mph the vibration and loud humming goes away.

No front suspension mods except for new stock Toyota Bilstein 4600 struts.

That's a bit unnerving. I'd get under there and take a good hard look at your drive line. Check for any damage or loose bolts. Grease the zerks while your down there. Is this a manual or automatic?

U-joints are notorious for causing all sorts of vibrations and problems. For the humming I'd be looking at doing a transmission service and inspecting the fluid that comes out.

I changed the front diff fluid, the drain had a ton of gunk on it. Does anyone think it could be the cv axle? Hard to say but the sound seems like it’s mostly front driver

Since your not in 4wd and this only happens under load I would not think it would be a front axle, front diff etc. Either way, the front diff having a ton of gunk does not sound good. Is your front diff breather connected good? That would rule out the possibility of water being sucked into the diff on a water crossing and contaminating the fluid.

Are you referring to the fluid having gunk or the magnetic drain plug? Fine metallic shavings on the magnet is not abnormal especially if it's been a long time or never been changed.

I just mean on the drain plug. I doubt it has been changed before. No water crossings probably either. It was a grandpa truck when I got it.
