Just got a scam text claiming to be from the Wisconsin DMV saying I have unpaid tolls.

Apart from all of the other obviously scammy things about it... Wisconsin doesn't have toll roads.

I've been getting ones for Washington too. The FCC basically doesn't exist in a functional capacity anymore so these guys just do whatever the hell they want now.

Yeah I got exactly the same message format for Colorado the other day as well. They come via iMessage from international phone numbers and email addresses. They're such low-effort, painfully obvious junk. It's depressing that they pay off well enough for people to keep doing them.

We don't even have tolls that can go unpaid here. All of the tolls which are in western Washington take a picture of your license plate and then charge it to your next year's registration if you don't pay it before that comes up

I've gotten a ton, so have family members. Ours have been for unpaid EZ Pass tolls.

I forgot to turn off the traction control on my dad's truck going through some mud, it got stuck

It would pull itself out than cut throttle and sink back down

Didn't click till it was too late to press the damn button

Well they open d up the tolerance which is great. Hopefully that was intentional. I've had a few engineers detail things wayyyy to precise unintentionally that has caused issues and it's such a pain. A part has a max height on the board of .500 which defaults to +/- 0.005" that now I have to order in a $10k laser to verify. Even though it's going into a big PC box where there's no true physical constraints. " Why does this cost so much to build?" Well your tolerance is extremely tight and the way at you document your boards I have to verify it, and your tolerance is well below what the standard deviation is for our standard processes. " But it doesn't need to be that tight" talk to your engineers I guess, they made this situation. "Our last cm didn't have this issue" well your last cm wasn't following your print. "Oh". Had that conversation with this issue and tolerance stacking too that good parts would fail because of bogus dimensions later on.

On thing that I have found in my industry is design engineers bounce from project to project and are only involved at th design stage, but aren't involved at manufacturing so they make these same errors perpetually because they never get to find out their designs are bad, poor for manufacturing, and costly to build as when that surfaces they are already on the next project.

Sorry for the rant but fuck, I feel you.

He is growing, his brother is growing sooo much faster. Brother is 37# and he is only 30# at this point so he is the runt I'm sure. Curious how big he will get but his personality is starting to shine these days. Super fucking chill, not the most cuddly, and still timid. But damn I can tell he is gonna be a loyal damn dog.

    Preach!

Management wants to know why Purchasing is getting no quotes on parts? Talk to the design engineers about their half thou GD&T everywhere…
