275/65R18 could fit on stock height Taco

Well, according to this thread and the guys running stock 18 4Runner wheels (which will likely have the same or similar offset/backspace as yours), it sounds like since you are running stock Toyota 18's, you should be able to shop for 275/65/18 which has quite a few options for AT tires.

update 11/26/12:
I ended up going with 285/60/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers at stock height. Perfect fit, just barely stick out past the fenders, very minor rubbing on the front but only when hitting bumps while at full lock left or right and only on that little plastic nub under the front bumper. no rub on the mud flaps. I'm going to install 5100's to level it out before i do any trimming. But for now i'm still at stock height. Check my gallery for the pics.

 

...so I have the 18" BBS rims, not the TRD rims as I previously stated. I'm sure they're similar dimensions though...right?

 

So, looking at a set of Moto Metals with 275/65/18's Wrangler radials at about 40% tread. They fit on my stock Pre-runner and clear at full lock. I haven't rolled on them yet, we just threw one on the front to check if they would hit. It looks like I am good but I am worried that with new tires or going up to an aggressive AT they will rub to bad. Or these will rub once I roll and hit bumps and what not. I plan on throwing on a leveling kit but don't want to tear up my truck while I wait to do that. Any input? I am supposed to pick them up today so I need to make a decision lol

 

sorry for the late reply but i'd just get a set of adjustable Bilstein 5100's and have them installed set to 1.75" and you'll be all set. Level and looking good. That's all I did to mine with 285/60/18 and worked perfectly, no rubbing and sits level. I also just put them on my new 2017 4runner set at 1.75" with 275/70/17 and it fits perfect, no rubbing there either and perfectly level. Seems to be the perfect formula.

 

I have a 3in lift and just put on 285/75/16's and I do not rub one bit. I've done no trimming or anything. Apparently I have a unicorn truck though haha

 

I just post on here today about possibly getting a set of 18x9 wheels with a -12 offset and a set of 275/65/r18 tires....you seem pretty knowledgeable....in your opinion with that set up on stock suspension do you think I’ll run into any problems...it’s for a 2013 Tacoma btw

I don’t know how these wouldn’t rub somewhere even during articulation on the street. This size would just be stuffed in the wells and damn close to rubbing the uca on stock wheels. I use this size in an AT tire, but with a 3” lift and 0 offset wheels. I get rubbing in reverse on the mudflaps.
If someone takes the leap on these with no lift and stock wheels I’d love to hear your experience with it.

 

i'll let you know soon, im removing a 2in lift and going back to stock suspension.

 

This is 275-70-17 on my old 4th gen, just had a levelling kit in the front.

 

yep it fits on a 2013 trd stock sport if you remove the mud flaps and zip tie the plastic splash guards forward. mine is proof
