I slap in whatever 0W20 full synthetic is cheapest at the parts store, a oil filter from whatever brand takes my fancy that particular day, and call it good. Frequency of changing matters more than anything (8k km changes for me). I've done 100k miles (160k km) on 33s, towing near or on the towing capacity, 500lbs of tools in the truck at all times, and 50% of the time it's on unmaintained fire roads and it runs like day one.

 

0w-20 is for CAFE credits. The manufactures get credits for extended oil changes (less pollution) and thinner viscosity (more MPG). The 2GR will run fine on ANY Viscosity.
