Anyone use a Quick Jack under their Taco?

I was looking at the Quick Jack 5000 series or 7000 series floor jack systems. Anyone have any real world feedback with one lifting their Tacoma?

 

I’m following this. Most of the Costco reviews say it’s not worthy

 

I have one but haven’t had to use it on the Tacoma. I have used quite a bit on other cars and it was great when getting my M240 off the ground to completely redo the f&r brakes. I have the 7000 and just need to get the truck adapters.

 

I have the 7000 series and it works as advertised.

 

Those Quick Jack 5000/7000's give me the heebie jeebies.

Just old school here; nothing beats a 3 ton floor jack and jackstands.

 

I have the 5000 series, they work Great! I used them when I upgraded my shocks and springs and replaced my brakes. It was nice to be able to leave the vehicle up on them without having to worry about it moving or dropping. They picked up the truck without an issue.

 

Did you have to use any frame extension option or cross bar? Got any pics of it on there showing the lift points?

 

I've got a 5000 that I use for my Integra primarily. I've also used it on a CR-Z and CR-V. It's been a great tool for me, it's absolutely clutch for the Integra. Seemed a little sketchy on the CR-V with the SUV adapters, just didn't seem stable (because of the adapters). Maybe the 7000 is a different beast but I'd be concerned about using it on something heavy and high like a truck. I don't so much doubt the capacity but just how stable the setup is when using the SUV adapters which would almost certainly be needed for a truck.

IMO, the Quickjack is the most beneficial for lowered vehicles where using a jack is a PITA. For my cars that have enough clearance to get a jack under them it's usually easier to just use jack+stands.

 

Yes, I used the lift blocks (1 Large and 1 small stacked on all 4 jack pads)and as soon as all 4 wheels came off the ground I shook the truck as hard as I could (I'm 6'2" and 280LBS so if it wasn't stabile it would have moved) and it only moved slightly as if it were on all 4 wheels and the suspension was moving. About the same as my Stongway brand 3 ton jack stands when they as extended all the way up, exept, I can hear my jack stands rocking and comming off the ground. I lifted the rest of the way and shook it again, and it was still very stabile. I lined the pads up to the frame rails with the front pads roughly 18" behind the front wheel center line. I didn't take any Pics though.

MAKE SURE THE SURFACE THE JACKS ARE ON IS FLAT AND PARRALEL TO THE VEHICLE. My son in-law used these to do brakes on his driveway that was slopped down to the road and the cement was cracked and one side was sloped down and to the right. So the jack was trying to go up and to the right which made the right jacks base noticably lift off the ground on the left side and was not flat on the ground when I got over to help him an hour or so later. Everything went ok, but I would recommend it. Just remenber you are basically lifting and holding your vehicle up on two long plates, not 4 independantly adjustable jack stands.

I have the 7000 series and the extenders. used it on the Tacoma and other vehicles without issue. it's really nice to get the whole vehicle up off the ground in one shot. you have to be on a solid level surface and the jacks must be perfectly parallel to each other. set up is pretty easy and doesn't take that long. they are heavy and have little baby rollers to make it easier to maneuver. overall, I am happy and glad I bought them.
I do stick with a jack and stands if I'm doing anything quick and minor.
