Any front bedside PPF images/installed from the DIY'ers

Has anyone taken pictures of PPF installed on the front of the bedside? I am contemplating installing it on my own, but before I do I'd like to get a view of what others have done

 

Buy some 3M ppf on Amazon for $20ish and experiment. That’s what I’ll be doing next week. If you don’t like it then remove and start again.

 

Fair, just looking for inspiration. I have a PPF installer very near my work, so was going to waste no time and have them do it too.

 

I was quoted $300 for a small strip to cover the rear quarters. That’s insane especially since I’ve watched YouTube to see how easy it is just for the small area.

 

I learned about this stuff from a guy that does vinyl….this is a tape made by 3m that you can basically outline any area you want to lay vinyl or even ppf, it works on both. When you have the ppf where you want it, the tape has a very sharp filament, like dental floss, embedded in it. You peel off the free end and pull. It will cut the material cleanly along the tape line and there’s no threat of using a blade on your paint.

This would make doing that area DIY pretty easy with a roll of Xpel that is available on Amazon.

you know with all the company's making vinyl over lays for tail gate and stuff you would think that some would make a pre cut piece of vinyl or ppf that you could buy and just slap on there already cut to shape!

 

First step was installing the steps, now
Onto the larger mud flaps, then PPF. Those image of rock chips on other peeps threads has me wiggin out

 

Those steps will not help much,you need the running boards to prevent rock chips

 

Just ordered some Xpel and cutting tape. Can you PPF over PPF? Should I remove the small piece of factory lower fender PPF, go over it, or butt a piece above it?

 

It helps for the rocker panel, flaps for the bedside, PPF for good measure

 

I was asking my self the same question. To me the ppf won't damage the paint or body and its fairly cheap. So I'm probably going to apply over the factory ppf as it is not really noticeable. Eventually after some years I will probably remove it and reapply it completely.

 

I just feel like the steps and mud flaps just ruins the look of the pro and these trucks in general. But you gotta do what you gotta do to protect your purchase.

 

It comes off pretty easy, several professionals on YouTube have a few how to videos. Believe it or not the best way to do it is a little heat, get an edge loose and pull hard on it, It comes right off.

Do a whole new one piece if I were doing it

 

Made an appointment at the local PPF installer to do the front, hood, A pillars, fenders, lights, mirrors, door cups, and front portion of the bedsides and all fender flares - $2200.00

 

What's to see with PPF? Mine covers the front-facing portion of the fender, plus a strip below the Smartcap door.

 

Looking for - in addition/replacement to the OEM.
