Sleeping in Access Cab?

Is there any way to make arrangement to sleep in an access cab cabin?

Traveling solo, I wish I could do that, when, say, it is too late to set up a tent, bedding.

What's happening in the back? Topper and a sleeping deck makes all things possible.
I'd think reclining in the passenger seat is the only real option, unless you're 4 1/2 ft tall...

You could lay flat on the seat. It will not be comfortable. Or remove the right seat and put a bed which will also not have enough length like a double cab.

or put a top and sleep in the back. Or a tent in the bed or on the ground.

a Softopper offers pros and cons compared to a shell but it can also be quick and still sleepable.

whether ST or shell sometimes you can find a good deal locally used.

 

I've gone the softopper and deck route, and it's great. Added a mosquito net and the dog and I hop back there for 40 winks at rest areas on cross country hauls.

 

Yes there is. I've seen it done in Scotland, but have not tried myself.

Open front pax side door and then close it on the strapping of a hammock, close to upper curve near windshield.
Open rear drvr side door (the "1/2 door") and then close it on the other end of strapping on same hammock, also upper rear-most portion.
Knots in strapping keep them from pulling through door seals.

Adjust the front seats to allow the greatest clearance. (drvr fwd to steering wheel, pax reclined to the rear. maybe?)
Adjust the knots in the strapping to keep hammock off of center console. (shorten them most likely)

It works.

 

If you had a tonneau cover, sleeping bag and sleeping pad you could simply slide in under the cover and be inconspicuous, dry and comfortable. Cab, not very comfortable and makes for a lousy next day with no sleep.

 

You can't even sleep comfortably in a double cab unless you are super short like someone else said.

 

Unless you’re the size of a 3 year old, ya can’t do it. Get yourself a shell and you are good to go.

 

Comfortably sleeping in the bed depends on the bed length and ones height.

 

Even if a short bed sleep on an angle and your good unless your 7’ tall. And if that’s the case he wouldn’t be asking about sleeping in an acc cab.

 

I'd sleep on the ground under the truck before I slept in the cab. It might be hard but at least it's straight and flat

 

Access cabs are all 6 foot beds.

OP, I can't imagine relying on sleeping in the cab. I'm 5'7", maybe you're significantly shorter. For me, if the options are setting up a tent or sleeping in the cab, it'll never be too late to set up the tent.
As others have mentioned, a topper and bed platform are ideal. Hotels too. I've been using them more as I age.

 

Makes me want to take a nap.

I’ve sleep in the front seat of my access cab twice in my life and wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re really drunk.

Recline the seat and hope for the best.

Don’t expect your whole body to not hurt for the whole next week though.
