    Hey TW!

I was taking off a skid plate so I can change the front diff oil, and one of the bolts broke off still inside the frame. Any idea how I can get it out ?
I do not have a welder nor have the skill to weld. Any advice would be appreciated!! Thank you.

Lot of penetrating fluid and a fine point chisel and hammer and try to turn it out.

Help is generally reserved for people who are in an emergency like being stranded somewhere. Maybe changing the title to "need advice on broken bolt"

    Please edit your title.

    1) Hit the broken bolt with a center punch, marking as close to the center of the bolt as possible.

    2) Carefully drill on your mark, try to be as straight as possible.

    3) Use an extractor (easy out) to remove the broken bolt, spray some penetrating oil on the threads first.

    4) You can get a kit like below at HF for not much money with the extractors and appropriate drill bits.

Great advice on drilling a hole and using an ease out tool. Also, I use anti-seize compound on practically EVERYTHING !!!

Or if you don't have a torch, set small fire directly under the engine.

...and whatever you do, don't break the "easy-out" in the extraction. It makes it a challenge if you do.:p

Make sure you have a tap handy, never put a bolt back in without chasing the thread out with a proper tap.

One of mine got broken, pretty sure it was the dealership during some service. Mine was further back though as I have the full skid setup. Transfer case skid IIRC. The threaded portion was just a square nut that was barely welded on. I just got a BFH and a punch and knocked it out. Then I replaced it with a riv-nut and haven't looked back.
