Cadillac to build Tacomas

It was announced today, in Detroit, that due to new tariffs enacted on foreign built cars, the Cadillac division of GM will soon begin producing the beloved Toyota Tacoma.

Officials believe it to be a cost cutting initiative that will benefit both the US and Japan.
Additionally, the Tacoma will be powered by the Cadillac drive train.

When current owners were surveyed by an independent agency most owners said, "It's about time, our trucks are already luxury rides. It's a perfect fit."

Does this mean they will have iPads in the back of the front seat headrests, like in the Escalade, so my dogs can watch TV while I’m driving around?

 

those new trucks and a lot of new vehicle putting like 12" computer
screen and some even go above the dash line/into windshield view
already

so unappealing to me...the sensors, technology and 'progress'complete opposite for me
even the electronic 4x4 and e locker buttons piss me off
and in my old 2004 t4r the tcase selector knob snapped off once i had to glue it back on

 

Yeah I agree, I purchased a 2013 Ram 1500 new back in the day and all the fancy electronic stuff started malfunctioning by 60,000 miles. I took excellent care of that truck but it didn’t matter.

That’s why I switched to a Tacoma, it seemed like the anti-technology/fancy option. Works well so far lol

 

Yes, and it also means the Tacoma will break down after 40k miles with endless visits to the dealership. GM quality at its finest.

I once had a buddy who called every Toyota he saw on the trail that (he had colorful names like that for everything, even his own Jeep). This was well before I got my '18 (I was driving Ford at the time... Still do occasionally). Around 2012 he got married and then none of us ever saw him again (shame too, a great guy ruined by a woman who apparently couldn't appreciate nature/being in the outdoors).

 

Instead of " pink Cadillac" it will be "pink Tacollac." Bahaha I pitty the "fools" that buy them.

 

That’s pretty funny lol I’ve never heard that one before (not sarcasm haha)

 

Moral of the story: Don't ever get married! And if you do, make sure that 'someone' is one who likes the same hobbies as you (or at the very least is willing to let you go do your own thing without getting all jealous about it).
