Are the front seat jackers worth the money?

How easy is it to install a different style grill? I absolutely hate that Toyota symbol.

Some people say they do everything from relieve sciatica and cure cancer.

If you want to swap out the grill, you’ll have to make sure you swap it out with one that works with TSS.

Can't speak to the seat jackers, i'm short, but the grill install is simple. I'd recommend taking your time to ensure you don't snap off one of the many clips you'll encounter, but overall it's very easy.

As @SH10151 indicated, depends on the person. Some people have wrecked their lower back too much for any relief and remove them within 5 minutes of install. Other cannot believe they waited. I am not predicting what you would encounter, though.

Seat jackers may be a good solution *if* your lower back hurts after driving your Tacoma for a while. Before I installed mine, I didn't really understand the mechanics of car seats and ergonomics. I had been driving pickups for 30+ years and never had an issue, but the Tacoma seat configuration is a bit more like a sports car than a traditional pickup, and I had trouble finding a comfortable position. The problem for me was having long legs and the seat was not supporting the back of my thighs, so unknowingly, my lower back muscles were being strained slightly when I was driving, and it really was noticeable on longer trips. If you can't get your factory seat adjusters to a position where you can sit for long periods without lower back pain, then the Skyjackers may be a solid solution. They change the angle of the seat enough that the seat can be adjusted to give support in an otherwise unattainable position. Depending on your body type/shape/length, your miles may vary.

As for the grille swap, one of the easiest mods you can do. But listen to what others have said, you need a certain grille and an extra part if you have the front radar for the cruise control and safety sensor.

Just so you know there are 2 ways to alter the seat. What you hear about 98% of the time- seat jackers… lifting the front.

I needed to raise the rear- was having back trouble in the truck on long trips over a hr, my legs hurt etc. the thing that was crazy is I spend most of my work day in a f150 and never had any back or leg pain. Tbh the ford seats is more plush anyways but after comparing the angles of both seat bottoms I could tell the difference right away- ford bottom was closest to level, taco had an angle going down to the seat back. So for me I raised the rear bringing it closer to level and bam… no more problems. 5’10”

also if you change any part of your suspension you’ll notice the change in seat position. You raise the front to be “level” your seat angle becomes steeper. I like the stock rake, looks and performs the best but after my rear sagged from bed/canopy weight I added a progressive add a leaf to bring me back to stock height I could tell the difference in the seat angle

Seat jackers were the first thing I did, second day of owning the truck. Made a massive difference. I rented one for a week a year prior to buying mine to see whether I can live with it. I just could not find a good seating position so I was constantly making little adjustments. With the seat jackers I easily found a sweet spot and left it alone.

    Welcome to the forum :hattip:

Without the seat jackers (front) I could drive about an hour, by then I would be getting uncomfortable and be constantly shifting around. There was no thigh support and it seemed like all my weight was on my heels & butt bones with my leg muscles always engaged to hold me in place.

With the jackers I have driven over 700 miles in one day with no discomfort.

Obviously we are all built differently and your truck also has a power seat I believe. Drive it for a bit, tinker with the adjustments and if you can't find a comfortable position give them a try.

I’m 6ft 200 pounds and I use them since I was driving back and forth across half the county. I only installed the front ones and they made the seat angle much better for me. As was said above be careful taking the grill off since you will probably need to reuse the surround part with a new grill and the clips can be a bit fiddily and want to snap. Here is a pic of the grill I went with it’s all aluminum.

Seat jackers help a lot if you don't have power seats. I have them in my 2017 on both the driver and passenger side. (The passenger side also has an arb twin air compressor on a desert does it mount.)

You'll lose some leg room under the steering wheel that's noticeable when getting in and out of the truck. There's much better vehicles with nicer seats for long distance road trips.

I have had small sports cars most of my life. I had a 86 Ranger i drove some San Diego to Kansas City and had no real issues. Ill try the seats as they are. Ill know right away after getting the truck i have a 6hr one way drive to make.

I’ll add my two cents on the seat jackers and say they are 100% worth it.

I have them under both my seat and the front passenger seat. They really help my back and my wife’s back on long drives.

Do you need the front and rear seat jackets to fit the ARB?

I'm 5'11" and have powered seat and have a very comfortable ride. No need for jackers here.
