Hey Folks - got a question for you all. I have a 1998 Tacoma that has some kind of weird play in the steering. There's some loose play in the steering wheel, but it seems to be wandering right and/or left for no apparent reason while driving. You can be cruising fine at 55 and it will suddenly decide to wander left or right and I can't figure out why, kind of like the steering just out all together. We have replaced the rack and pinion (wore out), ball joints, and tie rod ends. It is aligned and all the nuts/bolts are tight. Any ideas?????? The tires are new 24/45/R18 on Circuit CP 21 wheels. It's parked until I figure this out, any help would be much appreciated.

    When you RR’d rack
Did rack come with inr ties?
    That’s my 1st thought

close second is our 5 lug wheel bearings

I would also check the steering column coupler(that connects to the rack)
Make sure no binding/play or loose bolts
