TRD exhaust is what I run as well as a lot of others on here. I think Borla is a little deeper and sounds nice too!

Don't bother. No cat back exhaust is going to make your truck sound good. I think the only pro for the TRD exhaust is looks and that its stainless. This is just my opinion of course :D

I tried a few different configurations of exhaust before I settled on a Black Widow Venom 300 muffler, a Vibrant Ultra-Quiet resonator, and a URD Y-pipe. Has a deep tone and not too loud for my taste. This setup is definitely not as "bumblebee" as the other configurations I tried.

Is your goal noise or do you hope for performance?

TRD has a nice (to me) sound.

This isn't a very deep sounding engine, but I'm very happy with my MF Overland and Borla Y-pipe combo. No drone but the truck sounds tougher, like it should. The Borla did more to deepen the sound than the MF did I think, but I also did the Y-pipe second so I am unsure the tone difference it would have made with the stock catback. The Y did make the sound a little deeper though (a little closer to the 4.0l) and lowered the already minimal drone as the flow rate slowed down when removing that bottleneck under the transfer case (sounds a couple hundred rpm lower than it did before the Y, if that makes sense). I also noticed I picked up some decent top end after swapping the Y in, again likely due to removing that big restriction.

Everyone's preferences are different though. This truck won't sound like a v8 regardless of what you do, but you will be significantly happier with whatever you end up with so long as the exhaust terminates after the rear axle. Any exhaust that dumps under the cab will drone like crazy.

URD Y-pipe to TRD rear section and I'm extremely happy with it. Echoing other posts that it's not going to sound much deeper, but will sound slightly louder and a bit more throaty in the mid-high RPM range without being obnoxious.

Most V6 engines are difficult to not make sound like an old man's GMC Safari.
