This leak just appeared today. Any idea? It's not the drain plug. Got oil on the control arms and above the skid plate. Forgive my ignorance as I'm not a mechanic. Any thoughts appreciated. Thank you.

I'd start by checking fluid levels. Specifically, power steering, brakes, and oil.

Betting coolant being that far forward on the frame.

Check your oil filter/cooler, see if it’s leaking that high

    definitely looks like engine oil

The oil filter is right above that area

Have you popped the hood? Look around the oil filter stand

Thanks everyone. Turns out the oil filter had a small hole. Probably from the filter wrench teeth. I've done countless oil changes, never had this happen before. Hand tightening going forward. Lesson learned.

Your life will be easier on the changes anyways. Hand tight is plenty for putting it on and you won't fight as much to get it off

Oil filters are tightened with a socket or hand. Jaw teeth pliers that damage filters are used for removal where damage does not matter.

Even after hand tightening at what I believe is an okay amount.. on the next oil change, I sometimes have to apply a noticeable amount of extra force to get it off

+1. Only need to hand tighten the oil filter. Don't use a wrench on it. I tighten the oil filter by grabbing with one hand and tighten firmly. Never ever had a leak. At next oil change, the filter will require a tool to remove it.

Yeah, I've started just tightening it to an amount that's "tight" but not "tight tight". Like I could keep tightening if I wanted to with one hand, but decide not to because it's at what I feel is "tight" already. On the next oil change, I'm able to un-tighten with not too much force, but still some slight effort.
