Just catching up on other maintenance stuff. Back on January 24th, I finally replaced the old battery after over 10 years of dedicated service. Went back to a standard battery.

 

This weekend we did some Diode Dynamic fog lights. super bright. Maybe too much. And not aiming low enough despite best efforts. Not sure how to lower them yet.

Trying led in corner markers. Was hoping for a closer match to the backlight function of the ss3, but these are def more amber than the yellow backlighting. One extreme to the next I guess. The ones I pulled out were more white than yellow. Oh well. These are kinda cool so I’ll roll w this for now.

 

What LEDs did you end up running for the corners? I've been on the hunt for some that are brighter than the auto parts store Sylvania specials.

Also for the SS3's if you're using the '05-'11 kit you should be able to adjust the adapter housings using the factory adjusters that you swap over. The lights themselves have a small amount of vertical adjustment to fine tune if needed.

 

I bought the ones from Diode Dynamics. Got the middle ones…56 lumen. I’m happy with the light output. I think the next brightest were in the 90+ linen range iirc. So it’d be a big jump.

 

As for the adjustment, it’s down as far as it’ll go. Even right form initial install, it was basically bottomed out.

 

I tried on my truck but couldn't make a difference. Any tips?

 

I’m surprised. How bad is yours? Post ip a pic. didn’t try anything else other than the steel wool?

 

I havent tried anything else yet. Only got the steel wool based on your results haha. Did you use any wd40 in addition to the wool?

 

Nope, used it dry.
Maybe it’s a different kinda dirt lol.
try some all purpose cleaner..simple green, etc. I’d even try a magic eraser. Test it in a small area first, of course.
