Sorry if this is the wrong forum-please move if need be…

I’m just curious if your local Toyota dealership will price match other online Toyota dealerships when it comes to ordering parts.

    TIA

Nope, my local dealership wont (Sunnyvale). They state they have it in stock so I won't need to wait, shipping costs, their overhead expense vs drop-ship etc

They're in the business of selling Prius', Siennas and Gen4 Tacomas and populating the bays of their service department. They're not after the DIYer, like me, who occasionally needs an oil filter but unhappy about paying 2x the cost.

No, my dealer parts department is a jerk.
They won’t even match their own discounted price (when you order on their own website for pickup) if you walk in.

Dealers are independently owned franchises with their own policies whether good or bad.

dealers make money by artificially marking up parts a large amount.

I order online. Not interested in getting another guy who didn’t show up to work today another yacht.

depends on the ownership of the dealership, and the relationship you have with them.

in times of major service overhauls where i'm visiting the dealer parts counter every weekend for odd's and ends, and get to know the counter guys better, it's not abnormal for them to start cutting some deals of some sort. but it's very much a nuanced evolution, not a standard.

I've printed out an online parts quote, walked in and bought / ordered the part at that price. Saves shipping cost from online vendors, which can be high if you're just getting a few small things

    Lol!!!
Bought parts here in Clarksvegas stealership.
Seen same parts greatly reduced at Hopkinsville stealership.

Upon looking at Clarksville stealership receipts.
They charge a 20% restocking fee.
That little blurb in a totally different font than Toyota Corparate font on receipts.
Sucked it up buttercup on that one....

18 mile drive to Hoptropolis is what I do now.
Check out the gunshops up their also.

Their service prices are dramatically lower also..
Checked into a trans pan drain and filter change
150 dollars less than Clarksville stealership.

Clarksvegas stealership got a "good" reveiw per their outrageous pricing parts and service wise.
    Scathing review actually..

Surprisingly their reviews going back for years are not that great at all.
And their tap dance 101 replies are laughable at best.
    Fort Campbell Kentucky basically.

Businesses thrive around here preying on soldiers...
