No oil preassure

1996 Tacoma 4x4

I replaced the head gasket,machined head redid valves, new oil pump n tube. When I start it it has no oil pressure. We pressured the crankcase and some oil comes out pressure port but it does not build pressure w the pump ?? What could it be? It is a 3RZ

96 ext cab 4wd mt 3rz 400k mi.

Rebuilding seats with leather from furniture and extra padding. Might put leather on the dash and other interior parts.

I think I would try disconnect injector fuse then crank it over a few time to get the pump primed. When I did mine I packed the pump with vasoline to help prime it, and that worked very well.
