Retaliatory tariffs from China? What does China buy from the US?

I can't imagine they import even half the amount of goods the US imports from them.

I think trying to change from a country of consumers to producers is going to be painful all round. Better buy gold…. I kid……….

There is so, so, so much I'd like to speak on regarding all of this, but as this forum is a safe haven free from all politics (even those in this thread that directly effect the markets and the price of vehicles that we all love to drive) I am stuck keeping my mouth shut. And as such, I will.

And I'll probably add to my US top 100 market short position again on Monday.

Disclaimer: Make your investment decisions based on your own research. Do not rely on forum posts as investment advice. And definitely do not do what kairo does.

Always cracked me up that we grow a shit ton of alfalfa in fucking Arizona and then export it to the middle east.

Things are happening now that nobody has any idea where the chips are finally going to fall. I mean, I do, and a lot of other people do, but I'm just happy to be here talking about tacomas and stocks <3

AZ finally wised up last year and stopped the alfalfa farms. Too little too late imo. Cities in the middle of the desert.

I believe China get's most of their oil from Russia.

I guess I'll leave it at that. :pccoffee:

A lot of funny stuff like that. Like we could nearly be self sufficient, too, but before we ever get close people will lose it over shit like the prices of vanilla or cell phones we design

100% they absolutely get the majority of it from other countries. That being said crude is still the #3 export from the us to China behind soybeans and electronics. 6.76b worth. Considering how much crude they imported in 2024 our measly export value is like the leave a penny, take a penny tray at the gas station.

Invest in child labor and soup kitchens. Or train up on becoming a certified yacht technician. Or Hopes and Dreams Bonfire Management.

Let it snap/break. Much better than dragging it out for decades with hyperinflation and stagnant growth. :sorry:

    Context is key, homie.

    And here's a non-squished chart.

    upload_2025-4-5_23-15-56.png

And if we look at the one year, we see that an entire year's worth of growth was wiped in two days.

    upload_2025-4-5_23-18-33.png

And lastly, get rekt dow 30. Bow to your king

15 yr monthly chart looks even worse. 2 days, and the April bar is wrecked. You can really see how overvalued the market got after covid with the near 0% interest rates and companies doing buybacks on the cheap, then getting all their covid loans cancelled out.
