Did my first Blackstone Lab oil analysis on the truck after 105,000mi.

Changing the oil every 5,000mi with Mobil1 Full Synthetic apparently is key.

Nice to hear. I did that on my 2006 for 8 years and sold it proudly. Still doing the same thing on the 2014 pavement princess.

Changed the oil and filter at about 5K miles. Lost count of how many times I've washed the dusty air filter. Talk about a money saver...

Curious: what's your mileage and your oil change intervals and oil type used? Thanks!

I will never run one of these.

I used to have one on a previous vehicle. The intake tube was coated in dirt, after the filter. After cleaning the MAF i went back to paper filters and I won't be looking back.

These were cool in 1970s restricted intakes, I don't see the point with our modern computer modeled intakes.

What's your impression of the gears and headers? Noticeable difference with the SC?
I installed my cam gears before the SC, but still noticed a difference (without a tune) with more power in the low to mid rpms.
How's your exhaust system sound with the URD headers and exhaust now?

I had the gears before SC and could immediately notice a smoother happier idle.

Front doors done, on to the rear:

    IMG_5734.jpg
Kicker 2-way 6x9’s and DS18 tweeters. For the tweeters I cut the plug off the original tweeter and tied it to the new one, other than that everything was plug and play.
    IMG_5735.jpg
I couldn’t believe how cheap the original speakers were. Probably weigh less than a pound and look at that magnet.

    IMG_5745.jpg

    IMG_5746.jpg
    IMG_5748.jpg
Went with the triple layer of butyl deadener, closed cell foam, and mass loaded vinyl. On the door card I removed the foam block and layered closed cell form on the inside. The first door I tried to get as much coverage as possible and the three layers is way too thick for the door to go back together around the outside. Spent hours trimming everything back until the door would go back on. Don’t do this unless you’re only doing one layer:

    IMG_5741.jpg

The initial speaker impressions at that everything sounds so much more clear. I always had the treble all the way down because the stock tweeters are so shrill. These are very crisp and I highly recommend. I’m using a Sony head unit with 22 watts, with the new speakers I hope to add an amp down the road since they can handle 100 watts.
