    Sounds can travel...

Just pop the belt off and see if the noise stays or goes away, very simple and free test...

Many many many moons ago when I worked for a Ford dealer, we had a Ford Lightning with a noise that sounded like the transmission, (new truck) tore the trans down and found nothing wrong, installed it and noise still there, swapped out transmissions and the noise was still there, finally removed the bed and then you could hear it was the rear diff making all the noise, swapped the rear from another Lightning and no more noise, ordered new rear for the donor new truck... lol

Do you have an update on these after putting on some miles and getting a winter on them?

Couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about until I did a search on Tundra RCSB. Totally cool configuration. Back when you could get a full size 4X4 with a regular cab and a short bed stepside/fleetside, that was the hot rig. In the late 70's my sister's boyfriend had a yellow square body 1/2 ton GMC 4X4 350CI RCSB Stepside that I lusted after.

I'd like to see some empirical data on these too. MORR is all the time bragging on the Patagonia's but he's mostly talking pure off-road.

I am running the 265/75/16 Firestone Destination. I want to move up to 32 or 33. Any rubbing issues?

20250404_175706.jpg Those were great trucks. Simple and the beginning of OBD times I believe and the start of tuned OEM trucks! I think. Lol . Seen very few around but when they show up they're 20k ++.

Here's a pic of mine, do you know if the part number stayed the same but they updated it?
(Tried bumping old dead thread too)

    This and that
You all are both at 31.6” and 31.7”. Neither at the true 32” tire

Picked up a TRD exhaust off FB marketplace for $250. Hoping to install it later today or tomorrow. Previous owner removed the muffler and had a straight pipe welded in its place. The drone on the highway is ridiculous so I’m excited for the TRD exhaust!

The 235/85R16 Destinations are only like 4.5lbs more per tire than the 245/75R16 ATIII in SL load (39.75lbs vs 36lbs). On the highway I have not noticed a difference in feel. Have not done long steady climbs yet tho. The only place where I do feel a slight difference is when I accelerating from a complete stop, and even then it's just barely slower.

If you were to switch to 245/75R16, you would probably only feel it "off the line" and in your MPGs mostly.

I'm getting the truck OTT tuned next week so that should be nicer, too.

What PSI range do you like with these tires, btw??

No rubbing at all in any direction or suspension flex, they are much too skinny to interfere with UCA etc and not tall enough to hit the fenders

Maybe I didn’t read it right but about wiring through firewall grommet- that huge grommet behind the engine fuses/next to brake reservoir, has multiple unused nipples. The bulk harness is centered, that hood latch cable I think is using 1 of the outer nipples but there are many more.

easier to see (and pass through) from the footwell I believe and it maybe more of a valley than true nipple but
I wouldn’t use heat, damn you got all the wire to be careful of. Poke it with a hanger and Rheem it out with something bigger or just take some small side cutters and nip it. From the engine side put a dollop of caulk where the wire exits the grommet (that’s what was done from my port installed fogs that I removed)

I just tried looking it up on a couple of Toyota dealer websites with no luck, I don't know what I am doing wrong and I have never looked to deep into it, sooo..

You could try poking around on the car nut's YT cannel to see if he says anything about it...

Here is a pic of my 2023 HP fuel pump...

I recall 1st gen Tacoma's could be ordered with a step side bed. Looks kinda goofy imo.

Good point, as soon as I looked at firewall, I thought of the dangers...
