You will be spending a pile of money to correct some very minor inconveniences. Do the math to determine the cost and then take that amount of money and go on an exotic vacation somewhere.

I think the SR is the best value for the money if anyone is considering price in their selection. You might get a better deal on a higher trim like a Limmited more options for the money. If you are at the dealer and they offer you a SR5 or up for less than a SR that's a different story. If you want a new Tacoma I'd just get a SR or SR5, unless there's something you specifically like exclusively about the Limited or any of the TRD models the SR SR5 does not offer.

Don’t waste your money on a limited just get a sport or off road … paying that much for a midsize truck is bonkers … all you are paying for are bells and whistles .

The Limited I-force Max has the only Full-time 4WD option. The MAIN reason I purchased mine. That alone differentiates the Limited Hybrid from all the others.

I had a 2021 TRD Offroad premium. I never once used Crawl or the rear locker. So to me that is useless features.

That and the comfort setting is why I bought the Limited I Force Max. And I like bells and whistles.

Yes that is a down and the main factor I'd prefer the SR5. I like the look of the SR better with less painted items mirror caps, door handles, rear bumper caps, and cab spoiler I also like the steel wheels. I'd compromise down to a SR if I could find a 4x4, but I would prefer the SR5 to get the engine that is not detuned. I still think the less expensive trucks with less features is a better buy. All vehicles in their lowest trim is probably going to be the better buy.

Not if you get a MT, it's the same as the Sport and Off Road.

Since I wanted a 2-door truck the lower trim levels were the only options for me, but I've been super happy and would buy same truck if starting the process again from the beginning. There are a few things that if given the option to pay extra for, I would have---- but all wants rather than needs. There's no doubt that everything is so much more expensive these days, but mine was <$41k and has everything I need.

OP---- I'd agree w/ what others have already suggested that if you're only thinking about getting a new truck to fix the things you mentioned as problems, the changes likely don't make it worth it if you're otherwise happy w/ your current truck. If, however, you feel like it's just time for a change I think you'd really like the new ones. Comfortable, smooth ride (and mine still has leaf springs, so I can only imagine how nice the Limited is w/ the coils). Do a test drive to see if you think there's enough difference to justify the $$. You'll see the turning radius isn't great, but there are other factors that may or may not be of value to you. Just my 2 cents. Good luck w/ whatever direction you go.

How much more plush is the comfort setting? Also, you have the insulated windows?

I haven’t really compared the comfort setting to the others. When I picked up the truck I went straight to that setting and left it. The tires were at 55 psi so it rode like crap. Once I got it home and adjusted it rides great.
If it has the insulated windows then that’s something I can’t confirm. Seems I recall hearing that was something they put on the limited model but I don’t know for sure. Its is very quiet inside and it’s almost as comfortable as my wife’s RX350.

Do it. I kept my 2G for 12 years cause it was trusty etc and would drive to the end of time.

Your gripe list about your 2G will grow after it's gone, once you really accept what a decade of technology and modern conveniences brings.

Bye bye to feeling unsurefooted on the freeway, insane road noise, crappy weak AC, blah audio system, and random things that just feel old and worn despite still working like beat up windshield, etc ... it's like a new toothbrush.

Also have a 2015. And in the 10+ years have had zero issues. But keep it will maintained. Now in my case I plan on keeping it forever unless there is an unfortunate accident that writes it off else I will be buried in it.

    The reasons are
#1 fully paid for so no more car payments.
#2 been krown'd every year so totally rust free
#3 Only have 65,000 miles on it and that's peanuts compared to the mileage on 2nd gens I have seen here. Seen one with 650,000
#4 Now that I am retired I am only putting on 2500 miles a year and based on longevity this will outlive me.

But that is my situation and why I plan on keeping it. Your reasons will differ and they are of course your reasons.

Just traded in my 2017 TRD Sport for a 2025 TRD Sport. Super upgrade. And the 4-cylinder turbo shits all over the 3.5 V6. That was a big surprise.

Toyota doesn't give you any specifics to work from, but comfort is considerably more dampened in suspension over normal. Massively so over sport/sport+ mode. I've found zero use for Eco mode this far. Sport tightens everything up - suspension, steering, shift points. Sport and Sport+ won't let the engine shut off and go to battery only, you've always got an ICE idle showing. Sport+ seems to keep it at a higher idle point as well (by a touch) but I think the plus has more to do with how it uses the battery.

My custom setup is: suspension=comfort, steering=sport, climate=normal. But I've definitely to comfort mode because there's a bug in their software where custom doesn't start activated between restarts, but ask the others do. So staying in comfort it's always there unless I change it. Putting it in custom, in back on normal each start up.

When test driving, I socially tried each mode on a right patch of road and for me comfort felt significantly less BOF and about 80% or so like a unibody suspension in a Highlander or RX. That was enough to sway my purchase.

... Would love if savvier people than myself could get into the software and determine/share the actual changes each gives the systems
