So I noticed some rubbing when at full turn. I decided to upgrade the suspension because I know the rubbing is from the larger tires with the stock suspension. Now I picked up some Bilstein 6112 & 5160 and planning to get a leaf packet as well. I ran into trouble when trying to find the right UCA and after doing some research, people started mentioning caster and alignment issues. Any suggestions and/or tips is much appreciated!

Set-up: 2018 TRD Off road, 6' bed, Method wheels, MT Baja boss 285/70R17 tires, Bilstein 6112 & 5160.

Another forum suggested SPC but when I looked into them, people reported failures at low mileage. So definitely staying away from them. Do you know with my tires, wheels, and new suspension, the JBA will fix the rubbing and still get proper alignment? Thanks.

So upper arms allow you to max the lower arm caster, you need to tell the shop to max lower and use the upper as a tool to get high caster. It doesnt ensure no rubbing but it reduces the chances.

I have nothing to add on the UCA and favorable alignability fronts but you didn't mention your wheels' offset, which will have more of an impact on rubbing wherever it be, than the suspension installed on.

Do happen to know wheel width? Personally I’d get rid of the wheels. -38 is serves no purpose other than tires sticking out.

Wheel width is 9 inches. I personally don't mind the wheels. Kind of like them with the wider stance. But if the wheels give me issues down the road with the new suspension im putting on, then I will get rid of them.

Definitely JBA. I have had on my truck for a few years no problems at all. Just keep them greased.

With the -38 that’s moved the scrub radius way out. With the JBAs you’ll definitely be able to get a good alignment I’ve run them for years with no issues. But you may still have some rubbing issues because of the wheel offset on the cab mount.

They have a great warranty, but to what end? I have to replace them every 6 months?

Update us when you install the JBA.

Thank you for your advice. I found a reputable truck repair shop that specializes in Toyota here in SoCal. Once I get my JBA UCA, I will take my truck to them and see if they have any other suggestions in regards to the rubbing/clearance.
