If it's in your wheelhouse in terms of functionality, I bought a used Diamondback cover for the 3rd gen and it fits the 4th gen just fine. Absolutely LOVE it. Made a few changes to address some leaking, and the lock bars took some adjusting to fit the bed rails, but otherwise I love being able to climb on top of it or throw stuff on top with confidence.

Another vote for the Diamondback. I've got the SE. Expensive but I knew before even buying my DCSB that I wasn't going to be able to carry dick in the bed like with my 3/4 ton Chevrolet and I was going to go for maximum security with the Taco. I like that stuff can be strapped to the cover too. I use my utility trailer for big stuff (think big loads of lumber, rocks, dirt, sand, furniture etc) and Taco bed/back seat area is used mostly when going fishing and other outdoors stuff. I've also got the Cross Bin 13 and have got it loaded with recovery gear, air compressor, and other tools.

I've been happy with the Bak Industries covers. I had their hard roll up cover on a Nissan Frontier, which was good but I lost too much truck bed space. When I bought my 2018 SR5 I installed a Bak Flip MX3 and liked it so much that I took it off when I sold the truck and moved it onto my currrent truck (2023 TRD OR).

I personally don’t have one but if I was going to get one it would be OEM.

Every cover has its strengths and weaknesses. The OP must figure out what is most important about his cover needs.

I loved the Diamondback and would have purchased one other than two things about it did not work for me. It could not be opened full quickly in order to carry my mountain bikes. Ya, I could have put a bike rack on the cover but the big stumbling block for me was that it weighs 115lbs and I did not want to reduce my already sucky payload capacity even more.

The Diamondback would be my first choice if I had 1,500+ lbs of payload capacity.

Cheap(er) and easy to use- Gator SFX Tri Fold. Takes seconds to fold, minutes to remove completely. Even OK in winter.
Undercover SE or similar is more secure and waterproof but harder to deal with if there is something tall that needs to be in the bed, as removing and storing it is harder.

I second this. I can take it on and off in 30 seconds. Love how I’m not committed to a tonneau full time with it.

    Well, not everyone.
    I have a Backflip MX4 on my 2023 & I hate it.
At a Lowes, I'm walking across parking lot & I see a truck pull up behind my truck. 2 guys jump out, one with a coat hanger, slips it between cover & tailgate & grabs the chickenshit wire latch, opens it & takes my Lincoln welder & a toolbox. My truck has the locking tailgate. I'm disabled so I'm not much of a runner. I yelled but no one helped stop them.
Start to finish, he was gone in a minute or so with my tools. I'd replace it in a heartbeat with a Leer if I had the cash.
My 2009 has the Leer trifold. Much better cover & the latches are much better. No stupid cheap wire latch system. You aren't getting in that bed with a coat hanger.

    vote with your wallet!

i mean, none of the options from any brand are bad. just a matter of expectations and material quality. a $2k cover had better be made of better materials than a $200 cover. i would also demand that the $2k cover fits absolutely perfect, and if it doesn't, there's a support number/system in place to make it right ASAP. a $100-200 cover is more buyer-beware, and the major bonus is that it shows up to the door on time and undamaged.

it always comes back to the 'time/money/effort' formula. i'm willing to spend more time and effort for less money, but many are willing to do the opposite.

Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
I bought a used, hard Gator tri-fold from an acquaintance and I couldn't be happier with it. I didn't bother getting new weather stripping or install the drain tubes and it still keeps everything about 99% dry.

It's strong and secure and i think it looks great. Easy to install.

I bought the LED light kit to throw some extra light in the bed. Highly recommend that accessory as well.

I have a diamondback and I love it. It’s easy to get stuff in and out, it’s darn ear weatherproof, and I can stand on it if needed. They are expensive, and there is a manufacturing lag time, but they’re amazing. It took about 90 minutes to install.

Yeah the Stance version might be a little more handy but that was still not ready to ship when I got mine. I d find it easy to remove when I need to carry something like furniture, an appliance or cabinets.
