Found a missing bolt in my engine bay right above the alternator. Anyone know what size the bolt is or part #?

I bought the truck used, any ideas of what could of been worked on previously that needs those bolts taken off?

I just went and looked for you. Mine doesn’t have one there either. I’d say that’s the way they are from the factory.

That bolt must cost around 7 cents. If you extrapolate that out to 234,000 units sold in 2023
that adds up to some $16,300. Probably went into the coffers of an executive so he can install
some fancy appliances in his new mountain lake home.

...wishing you good tidings of corruption and greed...

As @IrishRed stated, there's no bolt there.

It’s a threaded hole… meaning something goes on top of it after which a bolt goes in. It may be for another model that uses the same part or perhaps something that is an option your truck does not have. Do t think you are missing anything there thankfully.

You will find many other "missing" bolts as you get familiar with the vehicle. These engines are used on multiple vehicles and configurations, they just make it as universal and convenient as Toyota can.

Everytime I see that on my 2021 OR it bugs me and I make a mental note to find a bolt to stick in there, but I am old, so of course, I forget until the next time I look in there.
