Hoping someone has some input into my predicament here. Got the three amigos light on my dash, traction control, ABS, and PCS. Sweet probably the wheel speed sensor right? Nope. The code description was “abs motor circuit relay open”, had code c146c and c1428. All fuses are fine, and I ran a live diagnostic which showed all wheels running correct speeds. Now originally I had the codes intermittently, but as of 2 days ago they’re not clearing. Truck has about 75k on it, not sure if it’s the actual abs module itself, or if I’m just completely missing something simple. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I’ve had this code trio. I park outside a lot. It seems that something was nibbling on the wires. You may want to check the wires to the sensors.

I had a look at the wires, all wheel speed sensors are reading correct. I would think that it would throw one off if it was shorting out. Dropping it off at the shop today, hopefully they’ll find the gremlin.

    Check the ABS #1 fuse

Check the harness for any damage like rat chewing, rubbing on the frame, or something broken. Make sure the connector is snug and no dirt or corrosion inside

Also check battery and alternator output

If harness and fuse are ok then it'll likely need a whole new ABS unit. The motor and relay are all internal

    Sorry

DTC's are indicating the problem isn't with wheel speeds so stop looking there. It's an issue with the ABS pump motor. The motor could have failed (rare), but more likely something electrical in the motor circuit is faulty (not as rare). You should be investigating wiring under the hood to the ABS module first.

I’m doing that as we speak, before dropping it off at the shop. Also forgot to mention it’s triggering something with the headlights, either killing or restricting power to driverside headlight and fog lights. Definitely a break somewhere, just going to investigate the junction at the driverside headlight where everything branches off. Appreciate all the help everyone, will update when I have more info

Not cutting power.. more likely something in the unit is shorted and sucking up all the available power from the alternator, that would make the headlights dim.

Have you checked alternator output yet?
