Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
There's nothing really funny about that. Could kill someone, could hurt someone, at the very least could destroy their hearing. You carry it for a lot of reasons, an accidental/stupid discharge is not one of them. Please go elsewhere for your pokes.

I caused an accidental discharge in my house before. The shame and humiliation of sharing this with others pales in comparison to the feeling of gratitude I have to our Lord God for sparing myself and others from injury or death.

There's nothing funny about an accidental discharge, and firearms should never be treated as anything less than an instrument of destruction. I learned a valuable lesson that it sounds like you did as well - Praise Jesus it wasn't any worse than it was.

A .22 will not penetrate a keg. Even at close range. Ask me how I know.

Oh all of my firearms are loaded, just not chambered. I have to make a reasonable decision to chamber a round.
Regardless, I ALWAYS check them when I handle them for any reason.

Same here always loaded just not chambered some will criticize me for that but I’ve always handled my firearms that way and I can chamber one very quickly. I can say this I have never accidentally discharged a firearm.

Revolvers are always loaded but with a heavy pull, thus why it’s the gun by the bed, other than that, nothing chambered simply for the fact the laws are so stupid now that even if a thief broke into my house then into my safe then accidentally shot themself the state of Washington would probably try to find me at fault.

Like some others had bc the guts to admit because you aren’t proud to admit it, I accidentally discharged, scared the shit out of me. Grew up with/around firearms my whole life, I felt so stupid, like taking for granted I knew enough to be above that happening- nope. Leave it empty, treat it like it’s loaded

Not have a round chambered sounds like a smart thing with a striker fired weapon. I prefer DA/SA and always keep a round in the pipe in my USP. The heavy DA pull is enough for me. There is also that safety thing if desired.

I agree. I have striker fired Canik and I don't keep it chambered. It just seems that it would be a bit too easy for an accidental discharge.

If you have to rely on a long trigger pull to avoid a ND then you’re just waiting to cause a problem. Keep the booger hook off the trigger and it won’t go bang regardless of pull weight, length or action type.

A good quality holster is better. Especially if you are concealed carrying

I'm aware of that and will manage my firearms as I see fit. If the remote possibility comes to pass that I can't rack it in time during a home invasion, then I'll pay that price.
