I had an Extang Trifecta 2.0 until just this morning, when I had it in the folded position but forgot to latch it down. I was driving along when it rapidly unfolded and blew completely off, and then got run over. Now I'm trying to see if I can repair it or not.

But this was user error, not faulty design. I've really liked it. It's lightweight and is easy to take off and put back on. I wind up helping people move furniture and things fairly often so it's been nice to be able to remove it easily. By design, it's slightly higher in the middle than on the sides, and those extra couple of inches of clearance mean that my RTIC cooler fits perfectly under the middle. It wouldn't fit if the cover was perfectly flat.

People have talked about the security of the soft covers vs hard covers. I guess it depends on what kind of town you find yourself in. There are sketchy areas around where I live, and nobody has ever tried to break in. Of course I always try to park in high traffic areas.

    Diamondback.

First mod I put on any new truck I get now.

Once it is initially installed, I can remove it or put it back on in 5 minutes or less. and because they break down into three pieces, storage is a snap when not in use. They are very secure and they are the best looking covers out there by a fair margin imo. I get compliments on mine all the time. I have an SE for a 3rd Gen DCSB that is in great condition that I am about to put on the market. If you are near the NorCal Bay Area or Central part of Oregon and have any interest, message me. (I am back and forth a lot these days).

No disrespect but I think you’re being a little naive. In my case security isn’t about where I live. I can park in a locked garage 95% of the time. It’s more about where I stay overnight away from my house. Here’s an easy example: most of my away from home overnight stays are at the NC OBX or Carolina Beach/Kure Beach/Fort Fisher recreation areas. As far as the OBX goes people from all over the Eastern US come there to fish and not all are as honest as you might think. The locals are fine. I dare you to leave your fishing rigs in rod racks as opposed to locked and unseen in a truck bed. Same with the beaches of New Hanover County. People start drinking and shit happens. Maybe it’s just me but I feel a lot better with my DB SE than a thin sheet of vinyl esp when we’re talking about expensive surf gear.

That's a good point. I almost never find myself staying overnight anywhere unsafe with expensive things in the back. Maybe just once in the 4 1/2 years I've had the truck, so it's just not something I thought about.

Very happy with the Tyger Auto T1 Soft Rollup.

Reasonably priced, very easy to install, and very easy to roll out, lock, unlock, roll up, and stow..
