    Hi Everyone,

Did a ATF fill and for some reason my Taco wont go into temp check mode. Following the procedure of jumping 4 and 13 and the lights flash as they should. Moving from N to D and it seems like minutes go by and nothing.

Could I be missing something here? I have no error codes and no recent troubles with the truck. The fill is just due as my maintenance requires.

    Any help is appreciated.

Did you follow the procedure exactly in this video between 3:50-4:30 in?

Yep this video is what I followed. Not sure what it could be. Of it's cooler temperature outside would that make it hesitate to go into temp check mode? I know it would affect it reaching the temperature once in check mode for sure but...

I ended up buying a bluetooth obd scanner and paying for OBD fusion app to read trans temp

When I changed my transmission fluid I followed the above video but used my Ancel TD700 scan tool.

Transmission temp check range is 95-113 degrees.

Ya I'll double check, I'm sure I have the correct pins because I'm getting the sequence of flashing lights on the dash.

Are you removing the jumper after the "D" indicator comes on after the N/D sequences?

The "D" doesn't change. With jumper in and lights flashing, the switching for N to D the D doesn't go and come back. The N& D adjust switch back and forth the D never clears

Do you have, or have access to an IR temp gun?
Point it at the bottom center of the trans oil pan, and add 5°
You'll be well within the margin of error.

I can borrow a gun yes ..that is an option as well. I'm just concerned that there could be something wrong if my truck won't go into temp check mode

You are far from the first person that's experienced trouble getting into temp mode.
There's no cause for concern, and I wouldn't consider it indicative that there's anything inherently wrong with the vehicle.

Why can’t I see the trans temp PIDs on my OBD fusion app? It’s super nice to have it on my CarPlay but really the only reason I got it was to see pan/converter temp, the rest is kind of an added bonus.
