I'm just pissed about the situation I expected to have my truck this weekend. Now I will def have trust issues with them. I will make them torque check them when I pick the truck up.

Unbelievable. I hope the VW loaner was accompanied by many rounds of apologies.

You get what you pay for in this world. Businesses want to maximize every penny for profit. As do these service managers at dealerships.
I'm sure at the end of the day these service managers get a bonus, so they'll hire whoever they can for the least amount of money, work
them to the bone so they can get that bonus check.

The most successful among us have laid the blueprint for every business to follow. It's right in front of them and very simple, and offers
    the biggest reward.

    1. Hire the best people available
    2. Pay them damn good money
    3. Go fishing or do whatever you want

Problem is companies want the best people available to work like dogs for peanuts, and they leave for greener pastures.

Been there done that, not because they demanded or expected it, but because the crew wanted to get the job done when needed.

But we were rewarded. My first raise after 4 years was $16,000 my next raise 2 years later was $30,000.
And I wasn't the best on the crew by a long shot.... one day they called us in and advised the crew that we were
no longer subject to company vacation policy. We could take time off any time we wanted no muss no fuss no
prior authorization, no prior management approval. Just clear it with the team and do what you want. Damn good
crew some of the finest people I worked with in all my near 70 years. There was about a dozen of us. Good times.

Our product was the driving engine of the company, sold for half-a-billion dollars to another global conglomerate who
proceeded to totally fk up the entire organization - starting with throwing all manner of people out the door, including
myself. Trained my 3 replacements in order to get a severance check and they ended up quitting after 6 months.

Oh well - tsk tsk - I'm riding into the sunset.

Exactly. My ass would leave a torque wrench in the truck from then on, and would check the torque of each lug before leaving. But I do my own work... So that's never an issue.

I had GoodYear service my Highlander (~15 years ago). They did not torque my driver front wheel.

If you can’t trust the mechanic that works on your car to do the right thing . You need to make a change
New dealership, new mechanic , or DYI what ever you decide. I know things happen ,but it seems like things t
Like this happen way too often these days

    Original with factory replacement parts.
By law, when parts are replaced, the shop has to give you the replaced parts.
I say this because you need to demand that every lug stud needs to be replaced.
The studs have been stressed outside their normal operating loads and the only way to assure that none of them remains in service is to have every one of them replaced.
And if they bauk on your demand, by saying they are fine, then demand the magniflux report or the x-rays of each stud.
They can have micro fractures invisible to the naked eye.
Feel free to use any of these points when you see the dealer.
