Another take on the tailgate anti-tweaker/anti-theft device.

I'm not knocking anybody else's tailgate anti-theft devices. I've seen some real nice ones here and I will probably install one at some point. After adding a Relentless Fabrication tailgate reinforcement plate, I am a little more motivated to avoid getting my tailgate stolen. In addition to adding a hose clamp to the passenger side tailgate hinge, I produced a quick, easy and cheap way to keep the would be grab-and-go-thief from disconnecting my tailgate cable.

I used the stock hardware but one could swap out the bolts for something with a little more security.






I made a stack of them once I got the thing dialed in. I tried 0.048" thick stainless, 0.063" thick aluminum and 0.080" thick aluminum. All of them work great but I prefer the 0.080 aluminum. If people want them in the future I'll do another run of 0.080 parts. In the meantime I’ve sold all the 0.080 parts but I have a few 0.063 and a small stack of the stainless to hawk.

First come, first serve on this batch. Will let go of aluminum first and then the stainless. $10 shipped to any U.S. address.

Next run will be 0.080" aluminum for $15ish.

UPDATE!
I made more 0.80” aluminum parts. They are ready to ship. Parts are $10 each but I need to bump up shipping to $5. (The post office got cranky when they figured out I was getting away with sending a package and not a just a letter for two stamps.)

$10 per side plus $5 shipping. So $15 gets you one shipped anywhere in the USA. $25 gets you one for each side.
