Alright so we went out for some off-roading and with all the rain recently all the river crossings were way too high. We went through them anyway and had water 6 inch’s up the door, my truck is still running great but was wondering what maintenance should I do? Changing gear fluid, air filter?? Anyone who has experience please help me out. Should I be worried about my wheel bearings?

Clean out drums, gear oils, and ya filters.

Next check under carpets, you dont want mold to build. Park with windows cracked to let moisture out if it got in.

Last is the alternator, they are prone to failures with water, there's not much you can do but wash it off.

Awesome, I will get all that done! It was fun at the time and then all the thinking kicked in after haha. What about my wheel bearings? I just replaced one and am not looking to do another one anytime soon.

They are sealed and should be ok but if not it will get noisy, only the front do this.

You'll hear it, I've changed lots of tacoma bearings due to water.

When I had a jeep it constantly needed bearings after offroading. I sold it after putting in 4 bearings from different companies.

There has been talk of people drilling and tapping (with a carbide drill) wheel bearing assemblies for zerk fittings to make them serviceable but it would take some trial and error to not upset the seals or wheel speed sensors. Maybe a second tapped hole 180° away as a "drain" that can be plugged. Some large industrial electric motors have these.
