Wanted some advice, I bought my truck with a pretty crappy lift kit, and I've been driving it for the last 3 /4 years. I've finally had about enough of it riding like crap, and I'm looking at swapping to something Bilstein. Looking for opinions here, I know I could go with 5100's all the way around, or 6112's with 5100's in the rear, OR 6112's with 5160's in the rear. I'm not sure if it is worth shelling out the extra for 5160's in the rear or if 5100's would suffice.

For reference 2001 xtra cab, 3.4 manual, 4wd, and I'm on 285's at the moment.

Additionally, I've got a block lift in the back and need to replace that with something, not sure if just an Icon AAL will be fine or if something like OME dakar leafs would be better.

    Any advice is appreciated

Depends what you use the truck for. If you are loading the bed with a lot of gear, front/rear tube bumpers etc.... you will need heavier spring rate springs/leaf packs.

I ran 5100s front and rear. Toytec coils up front/ome rear leafs. Stock bumpers, no winch, bed rack, RTT, Jerry cans and camping gear. Also had 285s. My truck rode good for me and the set up was enough for the gear I used

The most I ever really have on the truck (currently) is a spare in the bed, my fiberglass topper, and I have a plate rear bumper. If 5100's with toytec coils and an AAL will do fine for daily driving and offroad, thats probably what I will do. Soon I'd like to throw either a tube or plate bumper on the front with a winch, but still trying to find the best option as far as that goes. I drive the truck every day, and want to be able to take it to a few offroad parks my area. I don't think it would be necessary to swap the whole leaf pack in my case... 112-620 Toytec front coil springs 620lb spring rate are the coils that come with the kit I'm looking at.

Any further advice would be appreciated

it all comes down to preference as well. Some are for or against certain brands/companies. For me the 5100s and toytec worked great and have no complaints. I do plenty of camping and hit a lot of trails. No rock crawling but I do alot of off road with no issues with the set up. Good luck

Toytec coilovers. Height adjustable Bilstein's. 265/75/16 MT. TRD wheels. Rebuilt r150f. Marlin clutch kit. All kinds of new parts...
It's an old pickup so to get it back to factory or better you want to replace all suspension bushings. If you put new shocks with old coils, leaf springs it might help a little but soon it will settle back into its' old ways. It will never ride great or like a new pickup but dialing in the entire suspension system and you can make a dramatic improvement.
