The sunroof all of a sudden stopped

It’s fully closed and when you press the up/tilt button buttons, you can hear it clicking ( from the actual button) but nothing happens.
I removed refused and tried pressing it again and the clicking From the buttons stops so I don’t think it’s the fuse. when I Plug the fuse back in you can hear the clicking like it wants to open. just the button clicks but No other sound or movements at all :(

Sounds like you are lucky- it didn’t get stuck open.

I would guess that it is jammed and you are going to have to take it apart.

Its always worked great till now. Wi see if it’s like a motor component that stopped?

its fully closed. I’ve tried to push on all sides from the inside but nadda.

I haven’t seen anyone or anything on here for people having this issue at all.

You might look from the inside (since your moonroof won’t open) and see if there is a plastic skirt along the track that is ripped and jammed.

i don’t have a moonroof but my wife’s Corolla does. I had to replace her plastic skirt.

Her motor was working but would not close all the way, so your issue may be different. Worth a shot to check while troubleshooting.

Thanks for your response. The lining is meant no tear has no rips can see. It’s not stuck cause I can pull it out a little bit. I’m really thinking it must be the motor of it because it doesn’t even make any sense except for a click of the button when you press open and or up. But no movement or other sounds at all. :(
It’s really odd cause I’ve looked for other threads and issues like this on the Internet I haven’t really found anyone with it

I wouldn’t try to force it open, it wouldn’t be ideal to have it stuck open. I’d leave it alone until you figure it out.

I was just seeing if it would move at all. Didn’t move but I wasn’t gonna over push it. Don’t need more issues lol

My sunroof was once full of tree sap and would not move. Basically it glued itself shut, after a good washing it started working again.

I kinda wish it was that case! The motor doesn’t even make any sense at all so it’s not even trying to attempt to open and I don’t park under trees so there’s no sap on the top at all.

FYI. Expect a $1K+ cost for a dealer to resolve the sunroof issue.

They are never cheap and that is why I wanted to source out any problems it could be on here but no one at all seams to have this issue?

I do have extended warranty that I am still covered for.

If it is covered by your warranty, why not just let them deal with it?

You could always leave it closed. I guess that works until the drains need to be cleaned out…

    try either of these!
See if they will fix under warranty, they should, if you are still under B-B.
If not, I would leave it closed and forget about it.

Moonroofs were not available on Access Cabs. I have not missed having one in 9 years.

After the sunroof in my last vehicle died, and it was like 1600 to fix it, I keep mine closed on the truck lol. I think I used it twice when I first got it. But now, with it being 7 years old...I just need to remove that button!

Isn't there a reset/learn procedure for the sunroof? You could try that and see if it does anything..but probably just the motor went boom.
