Sheesh!! What a dilemma. Normally you hang a horseshoe upside down so the luck doesn’t run out…not sure if you would want to do that this time…if that’s truly where it’s been :notsure:

So I had concerns with the oil pan on the van.

    20250410_165452.jpg

A new one was less than $25.

    20250410_165338.jpg

It didn't look too bad in there for 180,000 miles with probably random maintenance.
As near as I could tell the oil had been in there for about 15k when I got it.

Never think the manufacturers don't have a sense of humor.

You can't get a straight shot at the bolt holding the wheel speed sensor, I think it was an Allen head once...

I jacked with the other side for a long time when I changed it - went in with force this time.

On the right is the filter I took out when I got the van - it was made far away.
The left is the one I took out today.

    20250410_192230.jpg

I'm tired & hungry, time put stuff away & call it a day.

    20250410_192049.jpg

"Fitting" is relative, yes I can shut the door however getting to the other side of the garage is kind of a chore.

    20250410_192108.jpg

Must need a bigger garage. ;)

Usually, those screen pickup/filters are replaceable as well. Typically an o-ring holds them in… if not a single bolt on a flange.

I almost bought a new pickup as well.
Fortunately the screen was clean, the only sludge in the pan was at the outside corners.

A whole life distilled down to a bunch of auction listings ..

Honestly, the packaged toys make me sad. Saved and hoarded all those years to not even try to play with so someone else gets the benefit later.

    Funny you say that.

Years ago I went to a huge auction, all day at a rented industrial building and the parking lot too, the estate of a Wrenchman.

Wandering around I noticed auction tags on items from the prior 3 decades on some items.

It occurred to me that I was viewing my own ending. :bananadead:
