this reply is a breath of fresh air, thank you again! I posted some questions on a tuning thread and got much better responses that were actually helpful. I’m used to talking to engineers on forums like this so I have little patience for ignorance and trolls (that’s what I’m studying for BTW, mechanical engineering). And I was a fighter jet mechanic for 6 years. Most of my old friends are engineers now, I’m just a late bloomer I guess. I used to just build race cars and bikes in my garage but my body wore out.

Best to learn to deal with the bs. Any job you take with your new trade skills will have plenty of it.

There's a reason rich people buy up 50 acres to put their houses 25 acres away from society.

Axles off center aren't that uncommon. I just worked on a 2025 international tandem axle dump truck that both rear axles(walking beam, zero adjustment) were positioned 3" to the driver's side.

Ignorance: The condition of being ignorant; the lack of knowledge in general, or in relation to a particular subject; the state of being uneducated or uninformed.

Hopefully, your professors are patient with you while you are learning engineering.

Now, now… :duel: …you never even had to deal with Rix Tux.

From one old mechanical engineer to (potentially) another: Suck it up, Buttercup. Everywhere you go, there will be that one person who is determined to prove that you’re not as smart as they think you think you are. The sooner you can show them that you’re just a regular person (and you have a sense of humor), the better things tend to go.

Lots of knowledge here, lots of people willing to help, and absolutely no shortage of BS. Enjoy the ride - even if it is a little off-center.
