In what way? genuinely curious, I have no base of knowledge when it comes to these carrier bearings; I do not know why the original is designed as a one piece, and I do not know the cons of this two piece design. I’m hesitant to put any non oem part on the truck drive drain, but I’m curious about this one.

That guy JXB makes amazing stuff for the Audi B8 platform. Glad he dipped his toes into the 1st gen market. Can't wait to see what else he designs. I bought one because why not. We'll see how it does.

It does exactly what the OEM unit does, except this requires you to buy their bushings when a replacement is needed.

At that price, I’d rather purchase a 1-piece driveshaft.

Aside from the risk of dropping the driveshaft on your face, and the mess that's usually occurs whenever grease is involved, carrier bearing replacement is a rather easy diy project. I'm not sure adding additional variables and complexity into a rather simple solution is really worth it.

I just got it and installed it. So far the vibration moved from 0-5 mph to 15-20mph BUT throttle response is very noticeable. I also have the ome spacers with it that had the angle 1-2 degrees off. Fixed it to be level and we’ll see how that goes. So far, actually really impressed with it.

Ive been looking at this too as the pillow in mine is shot. But I can get my whole driveshift rebuilt for almost the same price.....

$500 for a carrier bearing and no warranty. I need a lifetime warranty to spend that much on a $30 part that takes 30min to replace, for starters

Is it really that easy to replace, I thought it was sort of involved?

I remember disconnecting the driveshaft and using a hammer to push off. Maybe I'm misremembering?

With proper tools, can be complete in about 20 min. IDK about quality $30 parts tho

Depending where you buy it, an OEM carrier costs anywhere between $200-$300. I wouldn't waste money on a cheap aftermarket one, especially something that costs $30.

I'm just glad someone like JxB decided to make good aftermarket parts for the 1st gen, and I hope he doesn't stop there.

A$30 buck CSB will probably end up getting change within a year. Glad I got rid of mine after the crawl boxes installed, 1 piece shaft now and no vibe
