Any thoughts on this new aftermarket carrier bearing?

    In what way? genuinely curious, I have no base of knowledge when it comes to these carrier bearings; I do not know why the original is designed as a one piece, and I do not know the cons of this two piece design. I’m hesitant to put any non oem part on the truck drive drain, but I’m curious about this one.

    That guy JXB makes amazing stuff for the Audi B8 platform. Glad he dipped his toes into the 1st gen market. Can't wait to see what else he designs. I bought one because why not. We'll see how it does.

    It does exactly what the OEM unit does, except this requires you to buy their bushings when a replacement is needed.

    At that price, I’d rather purchase a 1-piece driveshaft.

    Aside from the risk of dropping the driveshaft on your face, and the mess that's usually occurs whenever grease is involved, carrier bearing replacement is a rather easy diy project. I'm not sure adding additional variables and complexity into a rather simple solution is really worth it.
