Yeah for the price of them if I ever have a problem I'll just toss em and get a new set. When I built the trailer I welded up some pads for the lights to stick on. Also it keeps them up nice and high for visibility of the vehicles behind me. This set is amber on one side and red on the other so I can see them in my rear view mirror and self check them for operation.

This may be subjective, but solid phone mounts for the bike?

No. Dont do it. I wont even put my main phone on the bars with a dampened mount. Keep your main phone in the pocket of your jacket where it doesnt see bar vibrations and use a spare phone for GPS or an android / carplay screen that mounts to the bars.

EDIT - I put my main phone on a quality dampened mount on the tenere when i bought it on the ride home for 1k miles. Im talking gushy soft rubber dampening within the mount with lots of movement in the rubber dampening before hitting a hard stop. Still messed the vibrator (hehe lol) in my phone and speaker. Buddy had an iphones gyro/camera get messed up with a quality DAMPENED mount. So from now on I pop a phone I DGAF about on the bars if i want NAV but have considered something like this

    https://www.amazon.com/LAMTTO-Motorcycle-Waterproof-Touchscreen-Transmission/dp/B0DGLLVN72

which I think a few others have similar on here.

I have done it in the past with cheap Amazon mounts. Not sure i ever had an issue but it was never a consistent thing nor did i put thousands of miles on like that.

I wouldnt buy a quadlock. Ive read way too many issues of the cameras getting messed up.

Yeah to elaborate on what the others are saying, new phones these days use physical image stabilization, really tiny moving parts and gyros and other magicry. The constant vibration coming through the bars can really mess those up. I've wrecked two iphones with a ram x-grip now. One of them was when I was on a long road trip and going through yellowstone, and didn't have a second camera to take pics with. whomp whomp.

As others have said, get a burner phone, a nav, or keep it in your pocket. You could also do a tank bag with a phone pocket, I'd be less worried about that toasting a phone.

IMO it will depend on the phone. iPhones have been known for the last few years of having the cameras destroyed by mounting them on bikes. I used a Kyocera Duraforce Pro and a Pro 2 for almost 7-8 years with no ill effects but that's a phone designed for rough handling and the camera in it isn't all that great to begin with. Some form of dampening in the phone mount would still be my recommendation but I don't use my phone for a camera so that's not a factor for me. I still use an old school digital camera for my pictures.

I've had a samsung android for years. I've mounted it on my ebike and motorcycle and I've never had an issue with it. But all of this shared information has me wondering if I should be doing that. Maybe it's time to look at a navigation set up for the motorcycle.

I use a Garmin Zumo XT for navigation. Android phone is just used as a phone and to run the Bubbler app linked to Spotwalla for tracking Iron Butt rides or rallies. Olympus Tough series digital camera in tank bag for photos and iPod Touch for tunes on long rides.

I’ve been use a quadlock with a dampner on mine for almost a year without any issue. I had a ram mount before that. I used an old phone in that mount instead of my current one. I havent tried on on my dirt bike yet.

I wouldn't use a ram or quad lock even if they were paying me to. That Carplay/Android auto screen thing looks neat, I ordered one, hopefully I can make it fit

I have messed up my last two phones with a handlebar mount. I carry my phone in my pocket but would really like to have a handlebar mount that won’t destroy my camera.

Bought a like new Helite Turtle 2 airbag vest off a gentleman today. Just need to order the tether. Pretty sure he forgot to take it off his bike when he sold it. Wife and I were planning to order some in the next week or two, so this worked out great. Was first time seeing one that wasn't large or XL. This was a small.

I bought this one when I had the S1000XR, because it fit into the BMW gps cradle. Worked beautifully. It's on my list to make a mount for it that'll fit the F800GS, since that doesn't have the bmw gps prep on it. Wireless carplay had zero issues syncing. Only thing I had to change was whether audio came out my phone or the unit itself, I went phone so that if I was on another bike I didn't have to re-sync my helmet between the carpuride unit or my phone, just phone all the time. It came with a handlebar mount to use it without the bmw prep, but I don't want it on my bars. Too bulky for that.

Related note: I miss the S1000XR. It was way overkill, but I should have kept it another season.

I bought that one. It hasn't turned on since my wreck. It never hit anything in the fall so I'm not sure what happened. It was great while it lasted though. Been looking at the Garmin Tread and Tread 2 as of late.

just a couple of things tbh
Well yesterday we went out to perry lake again! Decided to explore more of the park and hoooly shit is it much larger then we expected!!! We had so much fun and Emily finally dropped her bike haha( nothing at speeds really she just got crossed up and it flopped over). I did about run her over doing a hill climb thou... Whoops! But after a great day sadly we had a problem... When we turned into the park we heard a very loud bang clank sound? Looked all over the truck saw nothing wrong so we went and rode bikes. After we got back and we're leaving I did a sharp turn and it yet again did that loud sound and then my steering wheel was completely off and my alignment was gone! So we drove it up on a curb and low and behold my driver side lower control arm bolts were not tight! They were a couple threads from the nut falling off! I had taken the truck to the Ford dealer for an alignment (they normally do a great job) but this time they forgot to finish it! So an hour drive home turned into a 2 hour 30-45mph drive home... We did get ice cream a long the way thou haha.

I'd like to point out no I didn't drive that far with it loose I hit up one of my friends who was thankfully close ish to perry lake and was able to tighten the bolts up and hold it but the alignment was very very much out.

Blip season starter! We got there a lot later then usual we were pretty tired from riding the dirtbikes yesterday for 4 hours! Man oh man riding the bolt wore me out even more haha. Lots of cool bikes and lots of people!

Didn't get a photo but I saw a KTM 1190? Super bike never seen one in person before.
