Yeah the reliability of appliances ain't what it used to be, and that's a fact

The safety switch on our washing machine died, oh, maybe 10 years ago.

Mrs Gritto said: "I guess we gotta buy a new one"
    Me:

I just hot wired bypassed it.
It's not like it's gonna rip your arm off if you open the lid and the agitator doesn't stop o_O

Our washer, dryer, and one of our refrigerators are all at least 35 years old.

From the few repair guys I have talked to that are willing to say anything. Say STAY AWAY from Samsung appliances. They brake the most and are usually the hardest to get parts for.

That's what I've heard as well.
    Isn't that odd?
Samsung electronics are on the whole quite well regarded.

I had to replace our water heater about 7-8 years ago.
    Did it myself, of course.

It had one of those bullshit "smart" energy saving modules on it.
Now, I don't believe for a moment they actually save much energy.
If you're going on vacation, for instance, just cut the power at the breaker box.

Anyway, no matter what, it kept tripping the breaker :annoyed:
    I disconnected the smart crap.
Behind the module is a small panel on the outer skin of the tank.
Underneath that are the old manual settings for on/off, max/min temperature and reset.
    All good ever since

A bougie person is a lazy person with money...
That's like most of the definition of bougie..

Edit: also, too much money, too much free time

    @SACTOWN meets both criteria!!

Not really hard if you start investing early in life. I technically started in the stock market at 25

But we like him anyway :p

Well, hard for a lot of people living paycheck to paycheck.
But it's true enough that you gotta build up assets, and the sooner the better.
