On the bottom there are some threaded nutserts. Anyone know what they are for?

Most everybody in here has rock sliders. If you off-road with them, they’re gonna crumple like a Tin can. Have no idea what those holes are for.

Yeah I'm sure they don't stand a chance off road. I never off road I only need them for steps.

Whoever manufactures them should have info what goes there I would think. Come to think of it they could be for LEDs. I think I’ve saw some running boards with LEDs on them.

OEM aluminum boards. Very durable , just keep salt at bay if issue.

no those are tube steps. Toyota made that style too , but they were steel, not aluminum

I’m pretty sure those are just different mounting spots for the brackets if one so desires.

probably a different mounting option for a different truck. many of the brands tend to re-purpose the core parts with only custom-making the brackets for each specific model.

i know it's impossible to believe, but there are an entire subset of tacoma's that will never need rock sliders other than for street cred.

this is the 'wildest' my tacoma will ever see for 'offroad'. i got it for it's truck bed, not for it's offroad capabilities. if i wanted that, i would've gotten a 2-door jeep. therefore, i have and love my running boards, and will never get sliders.

Understood. I just see a lot of people in here suggesting rock sliders. I do off-road so I am considering them. I have scraped and dented the underside of my side steps a bit.

They are too small to support any weight. Looks like something small like lighting. I assume Toyota would have a led kit for it since they are OEM but I haven't seen one.
