Well the last trip our old percolator gave up the ghost. Found a nice quality unit at Costco today. It makes a great cup of coffee. Can’t wait to get out there and put it to use.IMG_3876.jpg IMG_3878.jpg

I'm sorry, I'm a terrible person but when I'm on a trip I want to be on the trail like three minutes after waking up. Also I only drink this when camping so I think my brain has made some warm fuzzy connections between the taste of this coffee and being in some beautiful locations doing fun things. And for instant it is really not bad.

I use a French press or just drink instant. I’m really leaning into instant coffee packets though because cleaning the French press is a PITA.

Maybe I’ll try pour over but Starbucks instant is just so convenient, that at this point anything else just seems like a solution looking for a problem.

French press doesn’t need to be clean. The coffee stains on it just had flavor. I just give mine a bit of a rinse and then I give it a couple of pumps with water in it to give it a rudimentary clean. If you have a stainless one you could clean it with steel wool I guess

I need to convince my wife to get some instant coffee for an upcoming RV trip where we will be dry camping at a couple of stops.
A number of our stops will be overnighters so we won't be staying until 10:00am when generally it's ok to fire up the generator.
Hell, I think it's stupid to fire up my generator just to hook up her Keurig coffee make anyway. I used an old school Wal Mart Percolator.
This might be one long trip!
