2015 4.0 Cylinder misfire with no codes

I have a 2015 tacoma sport with the 4.0 engine. Started running rough at idle and at low throttle but would straighten out with more throttle. At idle the RPMs would hunt and the truck would shudder. At low throttle the trans felt like it was jumping in and out of gear. I thought it was a misfire so I threw a scan tool on it and watched live data. Zero misfires counted even while the events were happening. Next thought was the trans so into the shop it went. Turns out the trans is fine and cylinder 6 was misfiring badly. Coil issue confirmed by swapping with #4 and chasing the misfires to cylinder #4 now. How is it possible to have upwards of 25 misfires in a single cylinder and the ECM not pick it up? No MIL or other codes present.

 

I had the exact same issue with my 14 DCSB back in Feb. Same coil. 6 went bad moved it to 4 and the mis moved I put a new coil in 4 and no other issues. Don't know why it didn't trip the light. 203K and I had done all 6 coils back in August.
