Of course right after I get the truck paid off I am now having this code. I am going to end up taking it to a mechanic, but I’d like to see what others know and see if they got advice. So let me go through this saga.

Got the P0335 code. Thought it was crankshaft position sensor. Ended up replacing battery and terminal cables (unrelated) and all the CPS issues went away. But now they are back with a vengeance. Here is a list of issues…

    1) Rough start (no failures), rough idle, cutting off my traction control, cruise won’t cut on, and check engine with the P0335 code.
    2) Acting like I have low oil. Check oil…not low. Also goes away after idle for a minute.
    3) Produces foul smelling smoke.
    4) Heat was very low powered in the winter (didn’t think much of it because I don’t use it often). Then blower quit. I notice it produces a little bit of cold air and luke warm heat. But almost no moving air.

Anyone got any ideas where I should look? Like is it most likely the Crankshaft Position Sensor? Could it be something else? Just to get more information and to hopefully not have too many issues with the mechanic.

So did you ever replace or check the crankshaft position sensor? If not, that's the logical place to start. Your post isn't really clear if you did it not.

Symptoms 1-3 can all be related the CPS. symptom 4 seems unrelated and should be investigated separately...start with the blower motor and AC PANEL which may have a burnt connector (common issue...lots of posts on it).
