Spent most of the night trying to find which wires to tap. I am going to give it a try today and see if they are the correct ones. More to come.

I've just been using the digital key. As long as I have my phone in my pocket, I can walk up to the truck unlock the door and start it just like if I had the key fob.

Only issue is sometimes it takes a bit to "connect" to the truck. Seems hit or miss when that happens, but for the most part it has always worked.

Yep, I’ve got the digital key and the credit card key. However, I would LOVE to have the touchpad entry option so that I can leave everything in the car while I’m out for a run, or mountain biking. I don’t always have pockets and, if I do, I don’t want a key, or card bouncing around. Also, I don’t want to lose it!

    Alright!

I have the keypad wired in and it’s working flawlessly. I did have to stray from the normal install since the 4th gen doesn’t have any similar wiring to the 3rd gen. Including trying to find the best harness to tap into since the usual ones are tucked in deep behind the dash.

But I found a perfect option and it made the install pretty easy.

I still need to adhere the touchpad to the window when I’m back in town Monday and I will make a post detailing the install. I’m looking to install this on the back window so it’s more discrete and not in my sight line while driving. More to come.

This thing is super sweet and worth the 150$ and the time spent for sure.

Oh man, Sweet! Where did you find it for $150?? The one I found was $300 and it comes with the “toolkit” needed for front window installation.

Off subject: why are we calling this a 'touchless' keypad? You definitely have to touch it lol. I'm pretty sure all keypads, by their very nature, are designed to be touched.

Keyless touchpad is what the OEM calls it, so just a flub

You do not need the install kit which is an extra 150. Totally not necessary. But the ones on eBay include both so that’s why they are 300$

Super glad I put this thread up. This will be a great mod.

Any issues locking your fob in the truck?

So far no issues. It locks inside fine and opens up fine. I think I even found a way to lock the truck while it’s running with the key inside.

But I am going to do some more rigorous testing once I’m back in town and have the keypad adhered to the window Monday. I’ll keep you posted.

For surfing, I have to lock mine in the truck all the time. You can disable the fob with a quick tap sequence that my brain forgets right now, but it’s in the manual

Will the dealer be able to reprogram a key card to another Taco?
