2001 Tacoma Rear Axle Bearing Race Extension - In or Out

    My truck uses the bearing in the rear with an extension on the inner race.

    Does this extension go toward the outside (tire) or inside (differential) of the axle.

    I did this job on my '03 a couple years back and cannot remember the correct orientation. I would think it'd go inboard (facing the diff), to sit inside the ABS tone rings though. Have you looked in the factory service manual?

    Protruding inner part towards tire, from inside out its collar-antilock brake wheel-collar- bearing with big lip out towards tire.

    If you have the anti lock wheel counter. I have it but no anti lock brake system. My 2001 ym has parts on axle but no anti lock brake system. From what I understand some had it some didnt.
